Alice's P.O.V
August 20, 1973
Today was another day to work in the studio. Paul and I got up early to get ready and make breakfast for the girls.
"Paul, do you want to get them? I'm going to call Laura" I said
"Sure thing, love" Paul said. He went off to the girls' bedroom. I walked over to the phone and dialled the number.
"Hello?" Laura spoke into the phone.
"Hi sis. I'm just calling to check up on you" I said
"I'm fine. Your house is still in one piece" Laura said
"Good to hear. How are Martha and Flower?" I asked
"Martha hasn't been herself lately" Laura said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Well, all she does is sleep and she barely eats. When we go out for walks, she doesn't want to stay outside for long" Laura said
"I'm pretty sure Martha just misses us. She'll be back to her old self when we come home" I said
"I hope. It's affecting Flower too. She cries in the middle of the night" Laura said
"It's only because she's worried about Martha. She's her best friend" I said
"I know. Call me again soon, alright?" Laura said
"I will. I love you sis" I said
"I love you too" she said. The line went dead just as Paul joined me with Stella in his arms.
"Ethel and Mary will come for breakfast shortly. How's everything at home?" Paul asked
"Laura says Martha isn't doing too well" I said
"Is she sick?" Paul asked
"It might be because she misses us. It's got Flower all worried about her" I said
"Hopefully Martha will be back to her old self when we're home" Paul said
"I hope so too" I said

After the girls ate their breakfast, we took them over to Linda and Joseph's. While I waited for Linda, Paul went next door to fetch Denny.
"Linda will be here in a moment. She's just getting her bag" Joseph said. I just gave a nod and looked at my feet.
"What's wrong?" Joseph asked
"It's Martha. I called Laura and she said that she isn't being herself" I said
"I'm sure she just misses you guys" Joseph said.
"I hope so. I don't want her being sick when we come back" I said.
"You don't want who being sick?" Linda asked as she joined us.
"Martha. She's not herself apparently and I really hope it's just because she misses us" I said
"Don't worry about her too much. I'm sure it's only because she misses you" Linda said.
