LOKI'S POV

So the mortal is my neighbour. Even better. I could make her miserable at school and at home. Yes,this was good for me! I already had several ideas forming in my head. And they were oh-so-good...

"Why are you smiling?" Thor asked me. We were having our supper at the dining table and apparently he had been watching me.

"Can't I just smile for absolutely no reason without being questioned?" I asked,my face falling to its usual emotionless state.

"You can," he said,"but when it comes to you,I have to wonder. You could be plotting something. And you're usually not easily amused,so its a bit surprising to see you actually showing your teeth like that."

I laughed, knowing he spoke the truth."Well, they don't call me the god of mischief for nothing." I said proudly. I didn't mind that people found me mysterious. They never knew what to expect from me,and I liked it that way. Always keep them guessing.

"So why were you smiling? Plotting something?"

"Do you honestly think that if I was plotting something I would tell you just because you asked?" By Odin's name, Why did he have to be so dumb?

"Brothers tell each other stuff." He said, looking at me expectantly. I had to stop eating and look at him.'Brothers tell each other stuff'? Was he being serious? Was that supposed to be the "open sesame" to all his questions? Was I supposed to be suddenly very open with him because "brothers tell each other stuff"? Really??

"Shut up,Thor."

That's all I had to say to him. If he said another word to me heavens help me I was going to slap him.

THOR'S POV

As the days went by I had started to worry about my little brother. I thought he was not going to make any friends, but it turns out I had been wrong. He had made acquaintances with the Sky family, who lived right across from us. When I was walking him to school the next day we saw one of the daughters of Sky by the name of Megan, and when Loki waved to her she raised her middle finger at him. Initially I had thought that that was a rude expression, and I wanted to give her a talk on the importance of being polite, but Loki explained that it was how the youth of Midgard greeted each other these days. Hmm,that was curious, but i was glad he was learning a lot in school already. I was proud of him.

When I went back home in had the pleasure of meeting Mrs.Sky. she was a lovely lady who was nice enough to invite me for lunch at her place. I happily agreed. I had nothing to do till then so I decided to watch a show on the Midgardian device they call "television". I felt quite lonely,to be honest. I was away from home,my friends and family, and I missed Sif quite an awful lot. She was strong and beautiful and her presence lifted my spirits. Whether Loki hated her or not,I wasn't sure. At best,he seemed to tolerate her.

And I wasn't sure what to make of him cutting her hair off. Loki plays pranks on those he's closest with, but he had never shown any special interest in Lady Sif until then. Was it his way of saying that he was finally accepting her? Or was he jealous? It was not uncommon for Loki to complain that I always got the best of everything, and maybe that included Sif. Or maybe he was just being his usual mean self.

I hoped that was it.

Mr and Mrs Sky were lovely people. And so was their eldest,Lizzie. She had recently got her degree and had started her own bakery shop. She looked a lot like her sister. Their son Adam was in university,I learned. He had classes that time and could not join us for lunch. Too bad,I was looking forward to meeting him. Maybe he could make friends with Loki.

"So what's your brother's name?" Lizzie asked me.

"Loki." I answered.

"Oh,have you met him already,Lizzie?" Mrs. Sky asked, eyeing her daughter with interest. Lizzie shook her head.

"No. Megan mentioned him to me the other day." She replied."I think they're in the same class. She freaked out when she saw him here yesterday. She didn't know he's our neighbour."

"You should bring him over. We'd like to meet him too." Mr. Sky said to me with a smile.

"Maybe this Saturday you could join us for dinner." Added Mrs. Sky.I nodded in agreement, but deep inside I was worried. Loki is the god of mischief, and the name alone was enough to worry anyone. He hated mortals and he wasn't the most sociable person in the galaxy. Inviting someone who's sole purpose in life was to create chaos and wreck havoc,i wasn't too sure how successful that dinner would be.

A/N: YOU MADE IT TO THE END OF THE CHAPTER!

*High five*

So this chapter is a bit shorter than the first two,but I hoped you enjoyed it all the same.

And no,I was not making any references to Agents of Shield with the name 'Sky',or 'Skye'..however you want to spell it.

I literally couldn't think of any names for Megan's parents. Then I looked up at the sky and I was like,"What the heck! I'm calling them Sky!"

And that's how I came up with Mr. and Mrs. Sky,people. Thought I'd clear that up for you.

Anyway, moving on...
