MEGAN'S POV
The moment I mentioned the party I saw Annie's face change.Suddenly she got serious.I wondered what was going through her mind."well..er.." She hesitated,"I..I..I wouldn't have been comfortable being there."
"What do you mean?" I asked.Annie was one of the most confident people I knew.it was strange hearing her speak like that with so much uncertainty.
She was silent for a moment,searching for the right words to say,then said:"I don't know why but.."her voice trailed off,then she laughed nervously,"erm..this is kinda hard for me to admit..but I think I like Harry." She finally let it out.
My jaw dropped and my legs felt so weak I almost fell to the floor.
"Nooooo!"I cried in shock.I had not seen that coming,at all!
Harry was that cool friend who was like a brother. And we treated him just as that.A brother. The last thing you expect to happen is for a sister to fall in love with her brother! "I'm not sure if I like-like him..but I get jealous when I see him with Sophia. Thats why I didn't want to go to the party." Annie explained,sounding a bit on the defensive side.
"How is this even possible!" I exclaimed,and Annie only shrugged. I looked at her and shook my head.Oh dear,this was too much to take in in one morning.
"Does he know how you feel?" I asked,taking her hand in mine. I didn't know what was going on with Annie to make her like Harry that way,but I was not going to judge or reprimand her.I was just going to be a friend and be there for her.If she loved Harry,well and good. Other than the weird 'he's like a brother' thing,he was a good guy. I had nothing against him.
"He doesn't know." Annie answered me.
"Why haven't you told him yet? This is big!" I said,placing my free hand on my waist. Annie laughed and shook her head at my excited face.
"Slow down,Meg."She said."Like I said,I'm not completely sure of my feelings for him,so until I'm sure that what I'm feeling for him is sincere and not just infatuation,I want this to be kept a secret."
I nodded sadly but in understanding. I didn't agree with keeping it a secret,because I hated lying to my friends,but I was going to respect my best friend's wishes.
"Well,I wish you the best of luck." I smiled and gave her a peck on the cheek.
"You people disgust me."
A cold slurred voice sounded behind us.Startled,we both jumped and spun around to see who was behind us. A tall lean figure towered over us. I let out a shuddering breath when once again my eyes met with the fiery emerald green orbs glaring down at me.
"Loki.." I said in a shaky voice,failing miserably at trying to sound confident."You startled us." I said breathlessly.
LOKI'S POV
I was sitting on one of the benches outside the school building when I saw those two.Annie was dressed in a white floral dress with matching shoes and Megan in black jeans,white T-shirt and a brown leather jacket with matching boots. They looked good.
I watched as they walked towards the school building.Annie seemed to have given Megan some good news because her body was bouncing with excitement and she had a huge grin on her face as she talked.
I found myself staring at her.The smile she had on confused me.It made me feel strange.My heart raced whenever I saw her and i didnt know why. I hated not knowing and that angered me. Then I saw Diego coming toward them.He angered me even more.I did not like to see him and his friend anywhere near Megan. I had boiled with rage that Sunday morning when I had saw them together.And whenever Megan stared at them with those lovely eyes of hers I wished I could strike them all with my scepter. Again,I did not know why in felt like this,and that enraged me more.
What had the foolish mortal done to me?!
My body visibly shook with anger and I could feel the familiar burn in my eyes. They usually darkened whenever any intense emotions were roused in me,and if the mortal was capable of doing that to me,then she must have done something. I got up from the bench and after making sure that no one was watching me,I made myself invisible and rushed to where Diego was.I placed my foot in front of him and tripped him.He went crashing to the ground. The girls hadn't noticed and they kept on walking.
I left the confused Diego still lying on the ground,trying to figure out what had happened,and made my way behind the girls. After looking around again,I made myself visible again.
"Slow down Meg."Annie was saying,"Like I said,I'm not completely sure of my feelings for him,so until I'm sure that what I'm feeling for him is sincere and not just infatuation,I want this to be kept a secret."
Hmm,I wondered what secrets they were hiding. I was going to find that out later.Megan looked disappointed,like she did not wish to keep any secrets,but she slowly nodded at her friend then smiled."well,I wish you the best of luck." She said truthfully,then kissed Annie on the cheek.
Yuck.
What was it with Midgard and kissing?
Before Midgard,I had never seen Thor and Sif ravage each other with kisses.The image still haunted me.And now Megan was kissing Annie.
What was so fun about kissing? It irritated me.
"You people disgust me." I thought out loud.
My voice scared the girls,and they jumped nearly out of their skins.They turned around quickly to see who was behind them.Annie looked very much annoyed when she saw me and Megan still looked scared. Even more so when she looked into my eyes.
"Loki,you startled us."she said.Her voice shook and suddenly she seemed out of breath. I noticed that her eyes seemed glued to mine and I realized then that she had noticed the undeniable change in my eye color. Annie had caught up to.
"Why are your eyes like that?" She asked,raising an eyebrow at me.
"Haven't you ever heard of contacts?" I scoffed at her. Just like Thor I had been doing my own digging trying to learn about Midgardian items.
"Where did you get them? I don't think I've seen any like those." Annie pressed further,and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Please bore somebody else with your questions,Annie.Excuse me." I replied flatly,and pushed past them and walked inside the school.
