❤ CHAPTER FIFTEEN: LOKI'S GUESTS ❤

MEGAN'S POV

I was sitting outside on the porch steps with Adam and Lizzie when Loki came out of his house. He looked upset about something,but as soon as he saw us his grim look vanished and he forced himself to smile.Adam waved at him and he waved back. He sat on the porch swing and started rocking himself back and forth lazily.

"Well,he's bored." Lizzie pointed out."Who'll be a good neighbour and go cheer him up?" She asked.

I shook my head."Not me,for sure." I said."Adam should go,since both of you enjoyed making me miserable the last time."

"It was an accident." He defended himself."I hadn't planned on puking on you.It just happened--but it was funny." He added with a grin.

"Idiot." Lizzie smacked his head softly."Go see if he's okay."

"Fine." He agreed,and a moment later he was shaking hands with Loki. Lizzie then got up and stretched herself."I have some things to take care of for work tomorrow.I'm going in.You coming?" She asked,pointing to the door.i shook my head no,and I was left sitting alone. I took out my phone and started going through my social media.There was nothing interesting for me to look at,so I started fiddling around and decided to play some games instead. I chose candy crush.

I found myself immersed in the game,having gone five levels up in a short amount of time."Piece of cake!" I laughed to myself,going up two more levels.I was on a roll here,then suddenly I heard my name being called.I looked up and saw Adam waving me over. Loki just looked on with no expression on his face. I wondered why he wanted me there.

LOKI'S POV

I felt my heart skip when I walked out and saw Megan sitting outside with Adam and Lizzie.I wasn't in a friendly mood but for the sake of being neighbourly I smiled and waved.Lizzie gave a half-smile and Adam waved back.Megan did nothing. She looked bored,but beautiful as always. I sat on the porch swing and started rocking myself back and forth absent mindedly,thinking about Sophia's invitation.

I had a feeling that she liked me very much so. More than often I caught her staring at me. She and her friends always giggled foolishly whenever I passed them.She was not my cup of tea,and I really didn't want to go out with her or any of her friends,but still I was going to accept her invitation because of Diego. I wanted to know what his intentions were with Stephanie.if he was at all interested in her I was not going to let him get anywhere Megan. He was not going to play with her feelings under my watch.

I did not know why I cared.It was not in my nature to care at all,especially when it came to mortals,but something inside me just pushed me to want to take care of her.I hated looking out for her,but I could not stop myself.Just what Midgardian sorcery had she placed upon me? Whatever it was I hoped I would rid myself of it soon.

I was starting to get sleepy from the boredom I was feeling and I had just decided to go back inside the house when I saw Adam approach me."Hey buddy." He called out,then jogged up the porch steps and shook my hand."Hi." I replied lazily and made space for him to sit.

"How're you doing?" He asked. I pursed my lips and shrugged."I'm bored,tired.." I answered truthfully."You?"

"Bored as well."he replied."its really hot today."

"I agree." I said."How about we play video games?" I suggested."Thor bought me a...what's it called..er--the Xbox..yes,that's it. Wanna play?"

He looked excited."Yeah,dude,sure!" He fist bumped my arm and got up.

I smiled and looked over at his house.Megan now sat alone fiddling with her phone."Hey,why don't you ask Megan to join us? She looks lonely."

"Yeah,sure." He nodded."MEG!" He waved at her. She looked up looking slightly confused,then her face cleared up when she saw her brother."Meg,C'mere!" Adam yelled again,and she got up and slowly made her way to us.

When we walked inside the house was silent. I guessed that Sif was in Thor's room.I hoped she stayed in there.I didn't want to see her stupid face anywhere.I asked Adam and Megan to sit in the living room while I went upstairs to "check on something". Of course,I was going to fix the hole in the wall that Thor had made.

I took care of that and then did a bit of cleaning in my room.There were books strewn everywhere and I arranged them in a neat pile in one corner of the room. I then hid my scepter at the back of my closet and as I left my room I bumped into Sif. I immediately noticed she was still dressed in her Asgardian armor."Change." I told her flatly.

"Change what?" She asked.

"Your clothes." I explained impatiently."I have friends downstairs,and I would not want them to see you dressed like this."

"Why not?" She whined."I think I look decent."

"For an Asgardian,yes." I said,"but for a Midgardian,you look out of place."

She nodded in understanding and went back to Thor's room. I raced down the hall and stairs back to my guests and inquired if they would like something to snack on. They answered yes and after ushering them to my room I took all of Thor's snacks and brought it up with me."Dude,did you rob an entire supermarket?!" Adam exclaimed,his eyes widening at the stash I dumped on my bed.

"I'm impressed." Megan grinned,taking several bags of potato crisps for herself. I smiled,surprisedly pleased that she was enjoying herself at my place."I'm going to take several of these.."Adam said,taking out at least six different kinds of chocolate and candy. I grinned,amused at how child-like they were being,then went to take out my game controllers.

"okay," I clapped,"Let's play!"
