❤ CHAPTER FOURTEEN: SIF'S BETRAYAL ❤

ANNIE'S POV

When I got home I found Daniel and Harry playing video games. Sheryl sat on my spot on the floor between them.I was both happy and disappointed to see Harry.I wondered if it would be a good idea to tell him about Sophia and Loki. Would it make a difference anyway?

Maybe I should just keep it to myself..

"Hey sis!" Daniel called out,and Harry waved at me.I waved back and muttered a "hey" back to my brother. I dropped my bag on the couch and went to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. When I was done,I took out a bottle of orange juice from the fridge and started making my way upstairs.

"Aren't you going to sit with us today?" Daniel asked,looking me over with curiosity. I always hung out with them,it was odd for me not to this time.

"No." I answered him boredly and raced to my room. I needed to be alone. I needed to think.

HARRY'S POV

"What's up with Annie today?" I asked Daniel. I was starting to get worried about Annie. Lately she had been ignoring me at school and was cold toward me whenever I came to visit. I saw her like a sister,and if there was something going on with her I wanted to know what it was.

"I don't know what's wrong with her these days." Said Daniel."She's super quiet."

Sheryl got up and placed her arms on my lap."Maybe Annie is sad." She said.

I smiled down at the little girl. She was so cute."Did she tell you she was sad,Sher?" I asked her. She shook her head.

"No,but I can tell." She told me.

"How?" Daniel laughed.

"When i look really really close,I can see it in her eyes." She said."You don't pay attention.That's why you don't know." She added,then went back to sitting on the floor. I ruffled her hair and smiled.

"You're a smart girl,Sher."I told her,and I meant it. I believed Sheryl was wiser beyond her years.

LOKI'S POV

When I got home Thor was not at home.Sif explained that he had to go back to Asgard.They needed him to prepare for the next battle."Why didn't you go with him?" I asked. "You're a warrior,aren't you?"
"
Yes," she nodded,"but your father instructed me to stay behind to look after you."

"Look after me?" I laughed."You're joking,right?"

"No."

"Go tell my father I don't need a babysitter!" I growled in anger,wrapping my fingers round her neck."Much less you! I'm already in Migdard,the place I loathe most. What else does he want from me?"

With each word I felt my anger grow,and hence my hold on her increased. It felt good watching her struggle to free herself. I relished the pained look on her face. After all,I was in this predicament because of her.

"Loki--" she choked."L--L--Loki!"

She gasped for air as I tightened my grip on her neck. I threw her down to the floor and placed my foot on her chest before she could get up."You shouldn't have agreed to come here." I told her."It is because of you that i'm here. You just used my father's distrust in your favor.You know perfectly well that I hold a grudge against you,and I wouldn't mind doing you more harm. Yet you came. Why?"

"I didn't want to. He made me." She answered.

"Well,too bad for you.You're stuck with me now." I shrugged,then added,"now I'm going to kill you!"

"Loki,you're the one who cut my hair! That's why you were sent here! You're going to kill me because of that? Come on,don't be stupid!" She talked fast and desperately,and before I could stop her,she tripped me and rolled away from my reach in one swift motion. She got on her feet and grabbed her sword in quick succession.

"I'm not being stupid." I smirked."Of course I won't kill you over something as trivial as that. You and I know both know what this is really about."

"Loki,you got things all wrong!"

"What do you mean i got things all wrong?I SAW YOU KISS ANOTHER MAN!" I screamed at her,making her tremble with fear.

"Loki--" She squealed,but I yelled for her to shut up.The sound of her voice only enraged me more.

"You two were going to make love,weren't you?" I questioned,and she shook her head."Don't lie to me!" I warned,but she shook her head again.

"I'm not lying to you!" She said,tears pooling in her eyes."I really do love Thor--"

"If you loved him,you wouldn't have done what you did." I cut her off.With a motion of my hand,I made the sword in her hand fly out of her grip and on to mine. I then walked over to her and pointed the tip at her throat."You hurt my brother.We don't exactly get along,but I love him.And you betrayed him.Nobody hurts my loved ones and gets away with it.So give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you right now,Sif."

"Loki--"

"Listen," I cut her off again,pushing the sword so that the tip now touched her skin,"the only reason why I'm putting up with all of this is for the sake of my brother.If he finds out the kind of woman you are,he would be heartbroken,and I would not bear to see that." I continued,"I am not going to wreck his happiness.The two of you will wed as planned,but be warned..if you dare go out of line,Sif..mark my words,I will kill you with my bare hands. Got that?"

"Y--yes.." She nodded,tears streaming down her reddened face. I pointed the sword aside and dropped it to the floor.

"Good." I said,then walked outside. I desperately needed to get some fresh air. I hoped Thor would soon be back. I didn't think I would be able to tolerate Sif for much longer.
