ANNIE'S POV

"Okay, Megan, just breathe!" Lizzie said to Megan after we managed to whisk her off to my room. "Just calm down."

"How can you tell me to calm down?" Megan snapped, tears of rage filling her eyes. "He's engaged to someone."

"We don't know that yet." I tried to help Lizzie. "This could all be a misunderstanding. She could be lying for all we know."

"A goddess." She continued on as if she hadn't heard me. "How am I supposed to compete with a freakin' GODDESS!"

"Oh dear." Lizzie squeaked under her breath. She looked just as freaked out as I was. We had never seen Megan that angry and we really didn't know what to do with her.

"She could be whatever she wants to be, but she'll never be the love of Loki's life." I said encouragingly. "As far as we're all concerned, you're Loki's goddess. Not her."

"Yes, Annie is right. Listen to her." Lizzie nodded in agreement. Just then, there was a brief knock on the doors before they swung open and Adam let himself inside.

"Adam, you're back!" Lizzie exclaimed, happy to see him. "You went with Thor and Loki. Tell us what happened. And are you okay?"

"I'm fine, don't worry." He assured her, then caught sight of Megan's face. "Whoa, what happened to you Meg? Why are you crying?"

"Oh, it's nothing."Megan brushed him off, wiping the tears off her face. "Just tell us what happened."

"Some monsters called Frost Giants invaded the weapons vault in the palace." He explained. "They tried to steal some casket, but they didn't succeed."

"That's terrible!" Lizzie gasped. "Have they been  captured?"

"They're all dead now." Adam told her, then turned to Megan again. "Now, will you tell me why you were crying?"

LOKI'S POV

I passed the Warriors Three in the hallways and followed Thor into the banquet hall, which bore signs of the festivities being cancelled. Thor walked to the middle of the room and stopped in front of one of the massive tables. I stood across the room and watched as anger and frustration took over him, causing him to overturn the tables in front of him.

Just then Sif, Fandraal and Hogun walked in, following Volstagg, who had entered in search of his dinner, I presumed. "What's this?!" Volstagg exclaimed, surveying the upended tables and food, aghast.

"Redecorating, are we?" Sif chuckled, not the least surprised by the sight before her.

"I told you they'd cancel it." Hogun said to Fandraal.

"We thought that was just you being your normal cheery self." Fandraal replied with a shrug.

"Will you lot be quiet?" Volstagg said in despair, still looking about the floor. "Just look at all this food, so innocent...cast to the ground. It breaks the heart!"

"This is not the time to be thinking about food Volstagg, my goodness!" I rolled my eyes and walked away from them, following Thor who had strode to the far end of the hall. He now sat on the floor, and I calmly moved towards him, thinking of what i'd say to calm him down.

"It's unwise to be in my company right now, brother." He huffed, staring down at the ground.

"Who said I was wise?" I said, sitting next to him.

He looked up and glanced around the empty hall with sadness in his eyes. "This was to be my day of triumph." He sighed. I felt sorry for him, but i knew it was for the best.
