FRIGGA'S POV
I was at my dressing mirror, brushing my hair, when Odin walked in, a smile lighting up his weary face. "You look happy." I pointed out, turning away from my mirror to look at him.
"How can I not be happy?" He grinned, bending down to give me a kiss. "This is one of the happiest days of my life."
"Really." I laughed.
"Yes." He sang. "I'm celebrating that I have a grandson and also, my son is soon to wed the love of his life."
"Right." I sighed as i turned back to my mirror. I didn't agree with the last part of his words, but I didn't want to ruin his happy moment. "How's everything?" I asked him.
"The banquet hall?"
"Yes."
"Everything is ready." He chirped. "I'm telling you, It's going to be spectacular, my Darling."
"Okay then." I said with a smile as I put my brush down. "I'm going to see Loki and see if he's got my grandson ready."
ANNIE'S POV
I sat on my bed, staring longingly at my phone, wondering whether I should call up Harry or not. I needed to talk to him, but then if I did, I feared I would live to regret it.
The truth of the matter was, I was having a clash of emotions. While I still liked Harry, I hadn't stopped thinking about Adam either. Ever since I saw him naked in his room I now saw him in a different light. I yearned to be close to him. To be his woman. It was absurd, but I couldn't help it.
I needed to talk to someone about my feelings, so I decided to go pay Megan a visit. We both needed to talk about what we were going through. I could only imagine how she must be feeling after finding out about Loki's son.
Adam was the one who opened the door for me when I got there. And as if the universe was teasing me, I found him shirtless. It took me all the strength I had not to reach out and touch his body.
"Hello Annie." He greeted me, and he sounded nervous, if I may add.
"Hey." I greeted back. "Is Megan home?"
"She is." He answered as he stepped aside and let me in.
"How's she doing?" I asked.
"Honestly, not that good." He replied as we both headed upstairs. "Maybe you could cheer her up. I've tried already and failed."
"I'll try." I told him. "Adam?" I added after a pause.
"Yeah?"
"Do you think I could talk to you sometime soon?"
"Sure, what about?"
I bit my lip nervously. "You'll find out soon enough."
"Ah." He suddenly came to a realisation, "I think I know what this is about."
"You do?"
"This is about what happened in Asgard, isn't it?"
"Maybe." I hesitated.
"Haha, okay." He laughed. "When you and Megan are done in there, you and I are gonna go for a walk in the park and then we can talk all you want. Is that alright?"
"Yes, thank you Adam." I smiled appreciatively, then walked to Megan's door. "See you in a bit." I added before finally walking in.
When I closed the door behind me, I saw Megan standing in front of her mirror. And to be quite honest, I was taken aback by her appearance. She just stood there, slouching, her sunken eyes staring back at her. The makeup was gone from her face, her hair frizzed, and she was clad in years-old pajamas, showing off her chubby midriff and torn sleeves.
"Oh my God!" I exclaimed, walking up to her and taking her away from the mirror. "I know we're best friends and all, and I'm supposed to support you in whatever, but goodness, you look terrible!" I told her. "I know you're sad, but you shouldn't be looking like this!"
"I don't feel like dressing up." She said, throwing herself on her bed. "I feel like my life is over, Annie."
"Don't be ridiculous. Your life is far from over!"
"I have nothing to look forward to." She sobbed. "My life suddenly feels so empty without Loki in it."
"Oh no. Don't say that my friend." I said, pulling her up by the arms so that she would sit up and look at me. "You have a lot to look forward to. Look at this: you have your eighteenth birthday coming up, you're graduating highschool in a few weeks, and soon we're going to go to Uni together! It's all going to happen and its going to be perfect, Just like we've always talked about."
"I guess you have a point." She pouted.
"Of course I do." I smiled. "Now cheer up, you're Megan Sky! The fucking Queen!" I gave her cheek a little pinch and I saw the tiniest of smiles creep up her face.
"Thanks for stopping by." She giggled.
"No need to thank me. Of course I'm going to be here with you, We're best friends. You're stuck with me whether you like it or not." I laughed, then pulled her in for a tight hug.
"I'm going to miss him though." She said as she pulled away from our hug. "I feel like I made a mistake leaving Asgard."
"No, sweetie. It was for the best."
"You think?"
"Yes." I nodded. "And speaking of Asgard...there's something I have to tell you..."
"What is it?" She asked worriedly.
"Something happened." I said, letting out a breath I didn't even know I had been holding. Megan narrowed her eyes, waiting to hear what I had to say next, but before I could, there was a knock on her door. Shortly after, Lizzie walked in.
"Megan are you--Oh, Annie!" She chirped.
"Hey." I waved at her.
"Good seeing you," she said, then turned to Megan again. "Why aren't you ready?" she scolded her.
"I don't feel like going." Megan whined, plopping her body back on the bed and hiding her face with a pillow. "Can't it wait till tomorrow? Annie and I were having a lovely chat before you interrupted us."
"No, it simply cannot wait." Said Lizzie firmly.
"Where are you guys going?" I asked.
"We're supposed to be shopping for her birthday." Lizzie explained. "I think it'll do her a lot of good and take her mind off of Loki and everything that has happened."
"No, I said I don't want a party for my birthday." Megan spoke up, sitting up again. "All I want is to be left alone."
"But Meg, it's your eighteenth birthday." I said. "This is a pretty big deal. Don't be stubborn."
"I can't say I'm surprised though." Lizzie scoffed. "Megan's always been such a drama queen."
"I am not!" Megan huffed.
"Well then, get your bum out of bed and let's go to the mall!" Lizzie clapped. "Annie, will you join us?"
"No, you guys go on without me..." I was saying, but Megan hit me with her pillow.
"Don't be silly Annie! I'm not going on this shopping trip if you're not coming." She pouted.
"Okay, fine. I'll come." I gave in. I guess Adam and I would have to find another time to have our talk.
