LOKI'S POV
It was late in the afternoon when I quietly left my room to go speak with mother. Megan was fast asleep in bed and I did not wish to disturb her, so I chose not to wake her. I had not gone very far when I bumped into Annie. She looked quite happy to see me."Thank God I found you!" She exclaimed with relief.
"Hello." I greeted her."You look quite happy to see me. May I know why?" I grinned.
"Well, because you'll tell me where Megan is!" She said."I have been looking for her all day, and nobody has seen her! The two of you didn't even show up for breakfast. What's up with that? What were the two of you doing?"
"I don't think you want me to answer that." I laughed, reminiscing about the wonderful moments Megan and I shared together this morning. I craved her kisses and her touch. I already couldn't wait to be with her again.
"What do you mean by that?" Annie questioned, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. Then, as if realizing something, she gasped."Wait! Don't tell me that..you know..the two of you have..." She giggled, a mischievous smirk on her lips."Did the two of you do it?' She asked in a loud whisper.
"Stop imagining things, Annie." I said firmly. I did not appreciate it when people tried to pry into my affairs. I valued my privacy. And besides, it would not be gracious of me to go telling people about whatever Megan and I did. Our relationship was our business and nobody else's. "If you must know, Megan is asleep. She is tired." I told Annie, and that was all I was going to say to her.
"Oh. Sorry." She apologized."May I go see her?"
"Sure. Go down the hall, first door to the right." I directed.
"Thanks." She said, then ran past me. I wondered what the rush was all about. Did she really miss her friend that much already?
When I got to mother's room, I found her having a talk with Thor. She looked quite concerned. And after seeing Thor's state the previous day, I could understand why.
"Loki, thank goodness you're here." Mother sighed when she saw me."Please have a talk with your brother! Make him understand that drinking himself to death will not solve any of his problems!"
"At least I won't feel any of this pain if I'm dead." Thor slurred. Surprise, surprise, he was drunk again. What a shame. Now more than ever I was convinced that he was not ready for the throne. Megan was going to get upset with me later on, but I just had to disrupt his crowning one way or another. Not that I wanted to "steal his thunder" or anything, I just wanted to postpone it for a while longer. Maybe by then he would have come back to his senses.
"I really don't know what to say." I said."All I can tell you is that, if you want to be ruler of Asgard, you need to put your act together and start acting like a king."
"That is what I was just telling him." Said mother, waving her hands dramatically.
"Sif is not worth all this trouble. She doesn't love you, so why are you putting yourself through this?" I asked him, only to have mother turn on me.
"I disagree." She said."I strongly believe that Sif does love your brother. She is just confused."
"Confused?" I scoffed."By what?"
"I don't know, maybe somebody pressured her to break up with him?" She said in an accusing tone, her eyes narrowed at me.
"What are you implying, mother?" I frowned, not amused by any of this. I suspected that Sif was already filling her head with lies.
"Stop it, both of you." Thor spoke up, staggering towards us."Mother, I don't believe Sif was pressured by anyone, okay? Breaking up with me was of her own volition. And that is why I want Loki to kick her out like he promised me. That woman hurt me. She must leave this place!"
