MEGAN'S POV
Everything felt so surreal. I kept drifting in and out of sleep, and in those brief moments where I was awake,I vaguely remember Loki carrying me to the bathroom and running a bath for me. He took care in soaping and rinsing my body off, doing his best not to be disrespectful. I don't know how he got me into my pyjamas, but somehow- maybe through magic- he got me dressed and tucked me in bed. The last thing I remember was him reading a book to me. I didn't understand a thing he was saying, but it was deeply soothing, and I think that is how I ended up drifting off to dreamland.
When I opened my eyes again it was seven in the morning, and the sun was shining brightly outside. Rays of sunlight streaked inside through my curtains, filling my room with a bit of color. For a moment I lay still, wondering if it had all been a dream. I felt so well-rested that everything appeared to be so far away. Maybe I had been imagining things. There was no way Loki would have come back for me. I was just missing him and now my mind was playing tricks on me. That had to be it. Imagine if I were to tell somebody that I had landed myself in trouble, practically got kidnapped, and got rescued by a god... A god for crying out loud!
Hilarious.
I sat up in bed, shaking my head and laughing at myself."Okay,Megan. Forget everything and get ready for school now." I told myself. But just as I was slipping out of bed,out of nowhere I heard a voice behind me,and I froze completely, scared out of my wits.
"None of it was a dream,my dear."
LOKI'S POV
The moment she stirred in her sleep I knew that she was almost going to wake. I kept myself invisible as a precaution,in case somebody walked in,and I sat on a chair by the window.
I watched her as she slept, and soon found myself reading her thoughts. Images of the previous night kept running through her mind and I could sense that it made her restless. Then she started thinking of me and how I rescued her,and she calmed down almost immediately. Everything then started to slowly fade away in a big blur, until she finally opened her eyes.
She stayed still, unmoving, and I heard her wonder to herself if it had all been real or not. She still couldn't completely process that all of that had in fact happened to her. She seemed to be in complete denial, and she convinced herself that it had all been in her mind.
Finally she sat up in bed and stretched, ready to start her day. I got up from the chair and walked up to her bed, making myself visible again. I thought it was important that she knew it had all been real. Diego was an idiot, and I was her hero.
"None of it was a dream,my dear." I said, and Megan immediately went rigid with fear. Clearly she hadn't been aware of my presence in her room.
She slowly turned her head around, and as soon as she saw me her jaw dropped. She inhaled deeply, and I knew she was going to scream,so I quickly raised my hand to stop her."Please don't scream!" I exclaimed.
She shut her mouth obediently and stood up to face me."Did you spend the night here?" She asked in a whisper. I nodded.
"And nobody saw you?"
I shook my head.
"How?"
"Magic." I whispered back."I can make myself invisible."
"Oh. That explains it."
"Yeah.." I nodded."Hey,Megan?"
"Yeah?"
"Why are we whispering?"
"Oh!" Her eyes widened in realization and she cleared her throat."Sorry." She said in her normal voice. I nodded in response.
