❤ CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT: QUEEN FRIGGA ❤

FRIGGA'S POV

Loki's eyes widened slightly when my hologram appeared before him.That was the only reaction I got from him.No smiles,hugs,nothing.He had never been the expressive type so I was not offended by his lack of emotion.Even without saying,I knew he was happy to see me.And in his defence,if he dared touch the hologram it would disappear from view.

He slowly got up from his bed and bowed in respect as was the norm in Asgard."Now," I spoke,not wishing to drag the subject any further,"tell me about the midgardian lady that you have fallen in love with,Loki."

Loki laughed humorlessly."Me? In love? That's absurd!" He said,but I already knew he was hiding his feelings,as always. I could read it in his eyes that I was not mistaken.

"Then why send Sif back to Asgard just to tell your father not to harm any of your..friends." I said,giggling as I said the word friends.It amused me that after all these centuries of loathing Midgardians,Loki had softened up to calling them his friends.

Loki's face reddened and his eyes shifted uncomfortably."She was going to kill them." He said defensively,which only made my grin grow wider. He looked so adorable when he got embarrassed.

"And when did you start caring who she slayed?" I asked,stepping closer to him."Knowing you,you would have stood back and let her do what was required of her.It is not in your nature to meddle in other people's affairs.More so when it does not concern you."

"Only this time it does." He said,glancing at me before looking back down.

"Oh,it does?" I smiled.I knew it.I tilted my head in curiosity."So of what interest is it to you?"I asked.

He rolled his eyes at me."The mortals I have encountered are trustworthy people,from what I have observed. They wouldn't dare tell a soul about us if I asked them to. So I do not see a need for them to pay with their lives a miniscule thing such as this,just because Odin is a paranoid old man." He talked with an air of boredom, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I agree with you,but remember,Odin is your father. Take care how you speak of him." I cautioned.

He scoffed,a smirk playing at his lips."OK,"he said reluctantly,"but I stand with what I said. It is the truth."

I sighed heavily at his stubborness. He started pacing around the room,casually walking around my hologram in a circle."So how has father received my message?" He inquired."I'll suffer more punishment,I presume?"

I shook my head."You presume wrongly."

He came to a halt in front of me,his eyebrows perked with interest.I understood his surprise,since it was quite rare for Odin to be forgiving,most especially with him."He was angry with what you did,of course,but I told him I would take care of everything.He has more than enough on his plate,fighting off our enemies and all."I explained to him.

He stuck out his lower lip and nodded along with me as I finished the last sentence."For a moment I thought the old man had a soft spot." He chuckled,walking back to his bed."So,"he breathed,suddenly turning to face me,"what do you plan to do with me,mother?"

I clapped my hands together as I moved towards him."I thought you'd never ask!" I squeaked with excitement."First I want to meet Lady Megan!" I announced.

Loki muttered incoherently and stepped away from me,his back to me now."M-meet Megan? W-why would you want to do that?" He sputtered."I'm refusing your request!"

I could not hold back a chuckle."That was not a request."I told him."Only after I have met with the young lady will I then decide your fate,my son."

"And what will you gain by doing that?" Loki growled,his anger coming to surface.

"Isn't it obvious? If the two of you love each other,its only right that you're not separated!"

He tilted his head toward my voice,never fully turning to face me."And then what? I stay in this mediocre planet? Never!"

"So you care not for your love?"

He spun around to look at me."I told you I am not in love!"

"Loki--"

"Please do NOT insist mother!" He roared,closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose with two fingers."I do not wish to argue with you,so please leave." He added in a lowered tone.

I looked at him in dismay,not wanting to leave him just yet. I tried to reason with him,"Loki,if you just--"

"LEAVE ME!" He suddenly yelled,making me jump. Before I had time to react further,he put his hand right through me and waved my hologram away. I opened my eyes and found myself standing in my chambers once again.

"Sif will go back to Midgard first thing tomorrow."

Odin informed me as we had supper.I put my fork down and turned my head in his direction."I do not feel that is wise." I told him.He looked at me questioningly,and I proceeded to explain,"Thor will be back in Asgard in two days.Don't you think he will be quite pleased to see his fiancée back home? That aside,I was with Loki today."

"You went to Midgard?"

"No. I used my tricks,Odin."I sighed.

"And?" He prompted,eager to know what came about this short visit.

"After speaking with him,Iam now more convinced than ever that you should let me handle his case."

"You want him to come home,don't you? You're going to spare those Midgardians and then we will--"

"Listen Odin," I cut him short sternly,"I may not be as curt and thorough as you are,but in more ways than one iam more sensible.Especially when it comes down to the boys,particularly Loki." I paused and went on,"Now,you have done what you felt you needed to do as a father,you sent him away and he has served his time in Midgard for disrespecting Lady Sif,so now I implore you to let me do what I feel is right as a mother.And I advice you to NOT stand in my way! Do I make myself clear?"

"Very well," he conceded."As you wish,my queen."

"Thank you." I said through a sharp intake of my breath."I'm glad we are on the same page,my king." I added with a smile.

Odin shrugged and took a sip from his goblet."So," he sighed," did you find out anything about that Midgardian girl he is so eager to protect?"

"No,"I shook my head,"but soon I will." I smiled,an idea having popped in my head.

Loki did not want me to meet with her,but who said i had to listen to him?
