❤ CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR: TOO LATE ❤

LOKI'S POV

Annie was the first one to arrive. She was quite surprised to see me."Loki? What are you doing here?" She asked,taking her seat behind me.

"well,I do go to school here. I don't know why you're so shocked." i said,rolling my eyes at her.

"You left. Just like that. Ofcourse I'll be surprised." She said."What happened to you? Did you go back to your alien planet?" She asked in a whisper.

"Alien planet?" I glared at her.

"I don't know what its called." She defended herself.

"Its Asgard,you fool." I groaned."Anyway,where is Megan?" I asked,looking around her.

"You're looking for Megan? Is that why you're here?" She gasped,looking down at the rose I held in my hand.

"Yes." I answered her."Now where is she? I need to talk to her."

"She's around.." She replied absentmindedly,eyeing me curiously."Tell me. So is it true what Natasha said?"

"I'm sorry,who?" I frowned.

"Natasha. That Russian exchange student you're supposed to be best friends with."

"Ooooooh...her." Realization dawned on me."What did she say?"

"That you love Megan..?"

"I smiled proudly."yes." I told her."I came to tell her just that today."

ANNIE'S POV

"Oh shit!" I exclaimed,slapping my hand to my face. This was bad. Really bad. How could I have fucked up so bad? I wanted to disappear from this damned planet.

Loki stared at me,looking very much confused."what is happening? I just told you I came to confess my love to Megan. Why are you so upset?" He asked me.

"Because I think it might be too late." I whined.

"What do you mean?"

"Come,let me show you." I took him by the hand and practically dragged him out of class.

I had left Megan talking to Diego outside the school building,after singlehandedly convincing her to give him a chance. I felt like such an idiot now. Loki and Megan really did love each other. How could I have missed it? I was never going to forgive myself if I was the reason why they couldn't be together. I hoped that she was still just talking with Diego and not doing something stupid like kissing. God,I hoped they weren't kissing!

But of course,the Universe wasn't on my side. We found them doing just that: kissing. And he had even gifted her the cutest teddy bear I had ever seen!

"I knew it!" Loki growled behind me. I turned to look at him,and the pained look in his face broke my heart." She doesn't love me. It has always been Diego,hasn't it?" He said through gritted teeth,crumpling the rose in his hand.

"Loki,no!" I exclaimed."She loves you."

"Doesn't look like it!" He raged,spinning around and walking away. I followed him.

"listen to me! Its not what it looks like!"

"No,I've heard and seen enough! I hope they're happy together!" He snapped at me,his voice a little bit high.

I reached out for his arm but he pushed me away. He ran behind the school building and I ran after him,calling out his name.When I caught up with him I found him doubled over,his hands on his knees. I thought he was maybe tired from running like I was,but when he straightened up then I realized that he was crying,and he hadn't wanted me to see.
