SIF'S POV

The warriors three and I went back to Asgard with our heads hung low. The battle we had just come from had been nothing but a disaster. Many of our soldiers who had done nothing but fought bravely were lost. I myself nursed a few injuries, and if you looked closely,I had a slight limp. Without our best warrior to lead us,all the fighting we went out to do seemed to be in vain.

As soon as we entered the war room we could feel Odin's eyes on us. He appeared to be upset. More saddened than angered, which was rare, but we felt fearful and guilty all the same.Especially me,being the one his son fancied. None of us wished to let down the all-father.
We all bowed down in respect and awaited his next orders.

He pointed to the chairs around the long table and we all proceeded to sit down with him and his queen and a few of his other noble appointees."Well?" He spoke up."What happened?" I opened my mouth to speak but Volstagg beat me to it."We were outnumbered." He said."The strategy we had planned did not work."

"We need Thor." Said Fandraal.

Odin looked my way and I silently nodded. I agreed with Fandraal."It seems to me that Thor knows best when it comes to strategising." Said one of the nobles,a balding middle-aged man. Odin nodded in agreement.

"Wrong." Queen Frigga spoke up,giving the all-father a rather harsh look."its a joint effort." She said to the noble."If its a matter of strategy,Loki knows all the nine realms like the back of his hand.He knows where to hide and what machinery is best efficient. And in more than one occassion his shape-shifting and trickery has saved you lot.Thor on the other hand helps a great deal in the training of the Asgardian soldiers. And he knows people. The allies, the enemies and so on..his strength and bravery out in the field keeps all of you going, that's why you feel lost without him, right?" Everyone nodded silently in agreement."You need both princes." She added with finality.

"But Loki is under punishment and Thor is watching over him."Odin said to us. He turned to the queen."it is not possible to have them brought back."

"What if we brought Thor back and have someone else watch over Loki?" The queen suggested."If I could have it my way I would have both princes come back. But I understand that Thor is the best fighter amongst you and you need him urgently. As for Loki as much as I want him here,he must serve his punishment to the end." She turned her gaze to me."it is only right after what he did to you,Lady Sif."

A blush escaped from me before I could stop it. I nodded at the queen and kept my head down."OK,so who is to go to Midgard?" Asked one of the nobles. We all looked around at each other. When the king saw that no one was willing to volunteer,he cleared his throat and looked my way."Since none of you will speak up,I have decided that Lady Sif will be the one to go." I looked at him with wide eyes, ready to protest, but he added firmly,"It has been decided."

THOR'S POV

An hour had gone by and Loki still was not awake. I had moved him to the sofa and was now watching him. As I did so,I heard a knock on the front door. I went to answer it and was surprised to find Sif standing outside. The minute we saw each other we crashed into each other in a tight hug. We had missed each other so much.

"My love, what brings you here?" I asked as I led her inside.I closed the door behind me and turned to look at her. She looked so beautiful, even with short hair."I came to tell you that you should go back to Asgard."

"Why? Is it because you miss me?" I joked, but she did not laugh with me. Her face remained still.

"We are losing at battle,Thor. We need you." She said with all seriousness.

I nodded in understanding, but I had one problem: "Who is going to watch over Loki?" I asked her. She took a step toward me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"That's why iam here." She told me. We stared at each other for a moment before we both burst out laughing.

"You? Watch over Loki? That's the worst idea ever."

"I know. I didn't want to come here, but your father insisted."

"You'll kill each other."

"Let's hope that won't happen."

She walked in to the living room and saw Loki on the couch. He was slightly stirring around, his eyes still closed."what happened to him?" She asked, walking over to him. I followed her.

"I knocked him out." I told her.

"I won't even ask why. He probably did something to deserve it." She said, and turned around to smile at me."Do you have drinks?"

I nodded.

Sif was the only woman I knew who drank as much as I did. It was something we did together often."The midgardian drinks are not as strong as the ones we have in Asgard, but they're not any less good." I said as we walked to the kitchen. I headed over to the fridge and took out all the drinks I had. I was so happy that she had come.
Even if i was to soon leave for Asgard,at least we would have spent a bit of time together.
