LOKI'S POV

When I got out of bed that Friday morning,I had already decided to tell Megan the truth. I couldn't stay in Midgard for a day longer. I had to get back to Asgard. After a quick shower and some breakfast,I bought her a rose and made my way to her place.

She was just coming out of the house with Annie, and they both looked pleasantly surprised to see me."Are you going to walk us to school?" Annie asked, and I nodded.

"I bought you another rose,my love." I said to Megan, then gave her a kiss.

"Oh,babe, you're so sweet!" She cooed, wrapping me in a tight hug."Thank you!"

"You're welcome."

"And nothing for me?" Annie whined as we began walking. I conjured up a small packet of sweets.

"There you go." I handed it her.

"Yay! My favorite!" She cheered.

"So what were you girls talking about before I came?" I asked them, placing a hand each over their shoulders.

"Oh,nothing." Megan sighed."We were just thinking about how we're almost graduating from high school."

"Oh."

"Yeah, and my birthday's coming up soon too." She added excitedly."I can't wait!"

"Oh. Are you going to have a party thrown in your honour?" I asked.

"I don't know yet." She answered after a bit of thought."A party sounds nice, but then again I don't want anything extravagant. I only want to be surrounded by the people I love on my special day."

"Sounds good." I nodded in agreement.

Later on when we sat in class,I kindly asked Annie to swap seats with Megan so that I could talk to her. I offered to bribe her with more sweets and she accepted.

"What's up?" Megan asked, sliding in the seat behind me.

"I need to talk to you." I started," its about the double-date."

"Yes,what about it?"

"I...I don't think I'll be able to go." I finally said it. Megan's face fell, her smile now replaced with a frown.

"Why not?" She asked, rather angrily,to my surprise."Are you ashamed of me? You don't want to be seen with me in public,is that it?"

"No,Meg--"

"People aren't going to know about who you really are just by appearing with me in a restaurant,Loki. Grow up,will you?" She scolded."Or what were you going to say? Sif is going to try to kill me again and you're trying to protect me,is that it?"

"No!" I growled, thoroughly irked by her attitude."Shut up and listen, will you?" She leaned away from me,her eyes glaring."Why are you acting so crazy all of a sudden?"

"Oh,so now I'm crazy?" She gasped in disbelief, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yes. Yes you are." I said bluntly, not the least bit fazed by her temper."Now you better explain to me why you just went off on me like that. Let's go talk outside." I added, getting up from my chair.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." She said stubbornly, facing away from me.  So I did the first thing I could think of. I swooped her off her feet and carried her out of the class, bridal style.

"Let go of me! Put me down this instant!" She yelled, but of course, I didn't listen to her and kept walking. When I was certain no one was looking,I teleported us to the principal's office, which was still unoccupied."Have you gone mad?" She panicked."The principal will be here any minute!"
