MEGAN'S POV

"Hey,what's up with you today?" I asked Annie as we walked home."You've been super quiet." I pointed out.
She smiled sadly and waved her hand at me dismissively."Nah,you're just imagining things,Meg." She told me.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not." I insisted."Now what's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm fine,Megan."

"You're lying to me." I said,crossing my arms over my chest. I knew Annie like the back of my hand. We always told each other everything,so I felt quite offended that she was hiding something from me.

She looked up at me,and when she saw that I was upset,she finally caved."Alright,I'll tell you." She sighed."Just promise me you won't get mad."

"Why would I get mad?"

"Just promise me."

"What's this about?"

"Megan..."

"Okay,fine. I promise!"

"Good."

"Well? What's up?"

"It's about Loki." She said hesitantly,looking down at her hands. Immediately I heard Loki's name my heart started pounding.

"What about him?" I asked quietly.

"He came to school today." Said Annie,glancing at me from the corner of her eyes.

"I know. I saw him." I told her.

She looked surprised."You saw him?!"

"Yeah. When i was talking to Diego. You were with him,weren't you?"

"Yes." She nodded,now even more surprised." I don't understand,Megan. If you saw him,why didn't you go to him?"

"Like I said,I was talking to Diego."

"So?!"

"What do you mean 'so'? I couldn't just leave my new boyfriend just to go talk to Loki,wouldn't I?"

"Megan,I thought you loved Loki!" She shouted.

"He doesn't love me,though." I huffed."He didn't come back for me. He came back for Sophia!"

"Sophia?"

"Yes,Sophia." I repeated."You should have seen how she gloated,telling me how Loki's her man now."

"Megan,she was lying. Loki didn't come back for her. He came back for you!"

"What?" I stopped in my tracks to look at her. I stared at her,searching her eyes to see if she was lying to me,but I got nothing. She was dead serious."Where is he now?" I asked.

"He went back to Asgard." She answered."I don't think he's going to come back. He was pretty upset when he saw you kissing Diego." She added.

Even before she finished talking I could already feel the tears coming on. I wanted to punch myself in the face. I didn't know when exactly that i had turned soft,but i sure hated it. I hated crying. And hadn't I made a vow just this morning not to cry over him ever again? I had promised myself that I was going to be strong. I wondered where all that strength had disappeared to now."What am I supposed to do with this information?" I cried to Annie,wiping away a tear with the sleeve of my sweater.

"I feel like this is all my fault." She said sadly."If I hadn't insisted that you give Diego a chance,none of this would be happening."

"No,don't blame yourself." I told her."Maybe that's how things were supposed to happen. Maybe It wasn't...it just wasn't meant to be."
