❤ CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: CARING FOR MEGAN ❤

LOKI'S POV

Immediately after the Chemistry lesson I rushed to the boys' bathroom to wash my face.I couldn't believe that Sophia had kissed me.How disgusting! Only heavens knows what germs she was carrying."Ugh!" I groaned as I furiously rubbed my face.I was already thinking of standing her up on Saturday.Was Megan really worth all of this trouble? I couldn't stand being around Sophia.

As I looked at my reflection in the mirror I heard somebody walk in."You're Loki,right?" I looked away from the mirror and my eyes landed on a shaggy-haired boy dressed in a basketball uniform.It was obvious he had just come from playing,telling from how much he was sweating.

"And you are?" I asked. I had seen him around with well,almost everyone in school,but never bothered to find out who he was. He seemed to be everybody's friend except mine. "I'm Harry." He said.I nodded and waited for him to keep talking."I heard that you're going out with Sophia this Saturday."

"Yes,so?"

"Sophia is my girlfriend,so why is she going out with you?"

I shrugged."I don't know." I replied."She has never mentioned you in any of our conversations."

"Well," he hesitated,"we're not exactly boyfriend and girlfriend but..its just one of those complicated situations,you know.."

I crossed my arms."No,I don't know." I told him."Why are you telling me all of this? I don't see how any of that is my problem."

"Well,i--"

"Listen,Harry." I cut him off."You seem nice,so I'll tell you this: The one you should be talking to is Sophia,not me. Clear up what ever situation-ships the two of you are caught up in."

"Situationships?" He gave me a confused look. I nodded at him."Yes,Harry.Situationships.Clearly you're tangled in something but it is not enough to be called a rerelationship.Youre just caught up in an unfortunate situation." I clarified.

"Oh." He hung his head low.

"Anyway," I continued,"as I was saying,talk to her.As far as I'm concerned,she asked me to accompany her and her friends,and I said yes.It would be rude of me if I stood her up at the last minute,wouldn't it?" I patted his shoulder and walked past him."See you around." I said as I walked out of the bathroom.

When I went back to class I was surprised to find that Megan's desk was empty. I thought that maybe she was running late but two lessons later it was clear that she was not coming back."Where's Megan?" I asked Annie when the bell rang for lunch. She hesitated to answer me but finally said,"she's sick."

"Sick?" I surprised myself at how worried I was."What happened to her?" Annie rolled her eyes at me and walked away,not interested in talking to me,but I followed her out.

"Come on,tell me!" I insisted,my steps falling in place next to hers. She crossed her arms and let out a sigh."You happened,that's what." She answered."This morning she came to school hung over,because of you..and even before she could get over that,she got humiliated in front of the whole class,because of you..and she spent a better part of her day crying and got a headache,because of you..and if that's not enough,everyone has been making fun of her all day and your girlfriend Sophia has been giving her a hard time--"

"Sophia is not my girlfriend!" I snapped. Annie scoffed. Obviously she did not believe me."I'm serious." I added.

"Whatever,Loki." She rolled her eyes."Megan saw how she kissed you today.Don't deny it. Its pointless." She joined the cafeteria line and I stepped in right behind her.I was not going to leave her alone until she believed me.I don't know why it was so important that she believed me,but I just felt that I had to clear my name.
