MEGAN'S POV

Loki did not show up at school that Friday.

I had expected that to happen, but a part of me had hoped i would see him again. After everyone had gone to bed I had snuck over to his place, ready and excited to pour my feelings out to him.I had jumped in through the windows with much ease and fell inside with a thud, but it hadn't hurt, with all the adrenaline rushing through me.I bounced up the stairs to his room...only to find it empty.

My heart had dropped, and I loomed in all rooms, everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found. He was gone.

With tears burning in my eyes,I went back to my room and stared up at the ceiling for hours.Memories of my time with Loki flashed through my head. From the day we met to the very last time I saw him.

I hated the bastard for all the things he put me through,I really did, with all my heart.I wanted to slap his smug face and teach him a lesson or two. And I wished he would apologize to me for the whole 'garbage breath' thing. That had really stung. But then again, the same heart that hated him, loved him with equal intensity.

I sat down on my desk and slumped,my eyes tightly shut, face buried in my hands and let my mind wander.I longed to be in his arms, hugging him, kissing him.I wanted to look into his gorgeous eyes and tell him how much I loved him.I wanted to run my hands in his wavy locks and play with his hair; I missed his laugh, and that sly signature smirk of his that I loved so much. He looked so achingly good looking when he smiled, it made me long to kiss him.I missed how he would sometimes sneak glances at me in class, and then wink at me when I caught him. I would pretend to be annoyed and roll my eyes at him,but secretly my heart fluttered with excitement and I would look away and blush furiously.

I missed how he teased me in class.I missed how he would ruffle my perfectly-combed hair out of place and then flick Annie's nose up with his fingers when she least expected it.He annoyed me with his pranks, but now that I thought about it,it was a lot of fun having him around.Annie and I would happily plot how to get him back, and school had been a lot less boring.

"Welcome back." Annie smiled as I took my former position in front of her.I smiled back at her and frowned."Won't you miss Loki though?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes playfully and shrugged."Maybe.." She replied.I laughed lightly, throwing my head back then returning my gaze to her."He kinda grows on you, doesn't he?" She added,a lopsided grin latched on her face.I nodded in agreement and smiled sadly."Did he tell you why he's not coming?" She asked, tilting her head to one side.

I pouted and shook my head, letting out a low sigh."I don't think he's coming back ,Annie." I told her.She stared at me in confusion,so I proceeded to tell her about how I had snuck into his house that night. By the time I was done telling her I had tears threatening to burst out of my eyes."I lost him for good." I croaked as I finished.

Annie pulled me into a hug and whispered "its going to be okay." But I wasn't too sure about that. I suddenly felt so lost without Loki.

LOKI'S POV

I had managed to find a small apartment on the outskirts of town,in a small neighbourhood where nobody knew me.it had not been hard, actually. The landlord had been quite reluctant and stubborn to let me move in,so I mind-controlled him into letting me stay. I then ordered him to go buy me things I needed for the house.

It was now noon, and I lazed in my new bedroom, awaiting for the landlord to arrive when suddenly I heard a voice in my head.

"Loki.."

A woman spoke, and I recognized her as my mother.I smiled, quite happy to hear from her, even though it was only telepathically. I had missed her much so.

"Mother, what a pleasant surprise it is to hear from you." I formed the words in my head and answered her.

"I have missed you so,my son." She said."How are you fairing on?"

"So-so.." I replied boredly."I'm slowly adjusting to the Midgardians' way of life."

"Oh,you like it there, don't you?" She squeaked happily.

"Far from it,mother." I groaned."When am I going back to Asgard?"

I heard her sigh."I'm trying to negotiate with your father.."

"And?"

"Well.."

"Still hardened as a rock, isn't he?" I growled."I don't even know why I asked. He will never change! I'm doomed to stay here for as long as he sees fit, aren't I?!" I spat, feeling my anger rise.

"Well,i understand your rage, son, but don't act like you're so miserable down there! Midgard has its 'perks' like they say" she paused to giggle,"and I'm well aware of them! You have been having your own bit of fun."

I remained silent, taken aback by her words. Just what was she getting at? "Loki, are you there?" Her voice filled my head again.

"Yes." I replied."And just what in Odin's name are you talking about, mother?" I asked.

"You know better than to lie to me,your own mother." I heard her laugh, and just then, her body materialized before me. She was as beautiful as I had left her,her silky blonde held up elegantly, dressed in royal asgardian attire only fit for the queen that she was. She smiled at me warmly, her blue eyes sparkling.

I got out of bed and bowed, but did not proceed to make any contact with her,for I well knew the form that had appeared in my room was nothing but an illusion.

"Now," the hologram spoke brightly,"tell me about the Midgardian lady that you have fallen in love with,Loki."
