Chapter 17: The Uchiha Siblings [Naruto]

Rin

Impossibly complex questions, eagle-eyed chunin watching our every move, and two points instead of immediate disqualification for cheating. It wasn't hard to figure out that's what you were supposed to do. I knew Sakura had her brains and Sasuke could figure it out himself, but Naruto was who I was really worried about. I closed my eyes and took a calming breath. Alright Rin focus, take in your surroundings. I opened my eyes once more I was in the center of a row, somewhere behind me was Sasuke, a few rows in front was Sakura and more to the left was Naruto, on my right was a few grass ninja and beside me on my left sat Gaara who seemed rather displeased to see me here.

"You're being obvious." I heard him mutter under his breath. I rolled my eyes as I glanced down to my own test.

"I don't need your help" I muttered back as I took my pencil. I ran a hand through my hair shaking my bangs forward in the process. If they caught me now it was over. I activated my Sharingan as my bangs fell forward and scanned the people in front of me. I smirked slightly as I landed on my eyes on one that seemed to be writing pretty confidently.

"Jackpot," I muttered as I copied his pen movements. So much for hard, I just hope the others would figure it out before it was too late.  

Kakashi

I was sitting with Kurenai and Asuma but only part of me was really in the conversation the other was thinking of Rin and the others. 

"It's quiet around here without the rookies" I noted.

"Hm, I almost miss them." I finished.

"Don't worry chances are they'll be back sooner than you think." We looked up at Asuma.

"Why's that?"

"I heard that their first examiner is Ibiki." I sighed, leaning back.

"Great, sticking them with that sadist right off the bat." I wasn't too worried about their performance, I was worried about how much harder he would be on them because of Rin. When Rin had returned to the village the Hokage had Rin interrogated by Ibiki Moreno. She saw through all his tricks, dodged every trap, and kept her cool through it all even when he threatened torture. It infuriated him but he could get nothing more than she was willing to give out of her.

"What sadist?" Asuma laughed at Kurenai's question. 

"I forgot you're a new Jounin Kurenai otherwise you wouldn't have to ask what" She rolled her eyes.

"So I'm ignorant, who is he?" I sighed lightly.

"He's what you would call a specialist" I began.

"In what?" Asuma looked over at her.

"Interrogation and torture. Now of course he won't be using physical torture during the test, he won't need to.  That's not really his thing anyway, he works on people's minds, not their bodies he's famous for it. Everyone knows the head of the ANBU torture and interrogation core of the hidden leaf village, Ibiki Moreno" Kurenai nodded slightly as Asuma looked to me. 

"Didn't he talk to Rin when she came back?" I sighed lightly.

"Talking is how it started out, turned into yelling by the end." He nodded slightly.

"That girl is something else, what has the Hokage said?" I leaned back in my seat.

"Keep an eye on her, wait for something. I think he knows that she knows more than she's putting out and is hoping the chunin exams will bring that side of her out." He nodded slightly.

"There are exceptionally skilled genin out there especially from the Uchiha and ever since she was a kid she's been compared to you know who." I sighed again and nodded.
