Chapter 33: The Uchiha Siblings [Naruto]

Rin

To tell you the truth? I was nervous. Nervous I would lose control again, nervous that Kakashi wasn't here, nervous that Sasuke wasn't here either and nervous to fight in front of all these people. I glanced at Jazmine who stood grinning ear to ear shining with confidence and sighed realizing looking at her just made me more nervous.

"You look like you're about to pass out" I glanced to Shikamaru and gave him a small smile.

"Nervous." I whispered.

"You'll do great" He whispered back. I nodded slightly as I crossed my arms. I was worried about the fight, I mean I never got to see Jazmine fighting in the preliminaries and obviously she was good if she made it here. My other concern was what everyone was saying around the village about Kakashi and I. A lot of rumours and harsh words that were being said and I knew I shouldn't pay attention to them but it still bothered me. I was just as good as any ninja here; I deserved to be here to.

"Where's Sasuke?" I glanced back at Shikamaru and shrugged.

"Not sure, but he'll be here." I whispered back. He nodded then as my eyes went to the crowd. I caught Sakura and Ino in the stands. Sakura waved and I smiled slightly. I knew she was worried about Sasuke too but I assured her that he was alright. I turned as Naruto slid into the arena and smiled slightly as I walked to his side with Shikamaru.

"Finally you made it." I told him as I took his hand helping him to his feet. His blue eyes looked at me then at Shikamaru and finally at all the others.

"Where is Sasuke?" I sighed lightly and shrugged.

"Probably last minute training with Kakashi, but don't worry he'll be here." He nodded.

"You three stop you're chatting" I looked up the proctor Genma and he smirked slightly as he motioned to the crowd.

"Stand straight and present yourselves proudly to the spectators." I released Naruto's hand returning to the group grinning slightly as I fell beside Gaara and Shikamaru moved to my other side. Naruto was up first, then Sasuke, then Shino, then Shikamaru, and finally me. I felt a shiver down my spine and glanced to Gaara noticing his glare towards the Kazekage. I reached for his hand and his eyes snapped to me.

"Calm down you look ready to kill him" I whispered. I noticed him let out a slow breath and nodded slightly as he released my hand.

"Sorry" He muttered gently.

"Welcome all! I would like to thank everyone for coming to the hidden leaf village for the final chunin examination! We ask that no one leaves until all the matches have been completed, now everyone enjoy!" The crowd roared as Genma turned to us.

"Now listen up the terrain is different but the rules are the same as before, and that is there are no rules, the match goes on until one candidate admits defeat or dies. That being said if I say a match has stopped I have all the right to step in and no arguments." We all nodded slightly.

"These are the opponents for the second exam, Naruto Uzumaki and Neji Hyuuga! Those two stay, the rest of you can go the waiting area."  I turned pausing before following the others.

"Naruto..." He looked up at me smiling slightly.

"You can beat him." He grinned then and nodded.

"Thanks Rin" I nodded and ran off catching up the others. I knew he would do alright; he wanted to be Hokage after all.

Rin

It hadn't been too much of a surprise when Naruto had beat Neji. It also really wasn't a surprise that Shikamaru had quit his match regardless of how well he was doing and how easily he could have finished off Temari. It had been unfortunate that I had never got to see Kankuro fight since he also quit and Shino didn't seem too happy about it either. What was more of a surprise and made me slightly worried is that neither Kakashi nor Sasuke were anywhere to be found. His match had been pushed back twice already and everyone was excited to see the Uchiha.

"Sasuke Uchiha's match will be moved back one more round!" I grinned slightly as I cracked my knuckles.

"This means next up is Jazmine Haruno!" I jumped on the railing balancing on my feet.

"And Rin Uchiha!" If this was just there excitement for me then I couldn't wait to see how loud they cheered for Sasuke, the roar was deafening but if anything pumped up my adrenaline.

"Rin!" I glanced back as Shikamaru walked towards me.

"Good luck" I grinned and nodded.

"Thanks"

"Rin Uchiha get down here!" I looked back at the field; Jazmine was already standing by the exam proctor. I pushed off the railing landing smoothly on my feet. I turned when I felt a sudden breeze the leaves moving with the wind as two familiar figures appeared in the midst of them.

"Sorry we're late, you wouldn't believe the traffic."

"Cutting it a little close don't you think?" Kakashi's eyes looked up to me and I could see the smile beneath his mask.

"I'm sure we still made it for Sasuke's fight." He glanced to Genma who nodded.

"Actually you made it just in time to see the Princess fight."

"See told you we'd make it on time." I ran past him to Sasuke who easily caught me as I jumped at him.

"Jerk making me worry like that" I heard him chuckle beneath his breath as he hugged me back.

"Sorry" He muttered and I smiled slightly as I looked up at him. 

"You need a haircut."

 "And you need to focus, you're carrying the Uchiha name and today everyone is going to see that the Uchiha Princess isn't someone to mess with." I grinned and nodded.

"Hell yeah."

"As great as this little reunion is, I'd like to finish this match today." We both turned to face Jazmine whose hands rested on her hips with an impatient look on her face.

"Then let's not wait any longer, Sasuke up to the waiting area and Kakashi get to the stands." They both nodded. Sasuke gave me a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder before walking off. I smiled slightly as Kakashi paused beside me.

"Do me a favor." I stared at him a little confused before his eye met mine. 

"What is it?" I asked and noticed the smile again forming under his mask.

"Prove to all these people and the Hokage that what we have doesn't make you weak," I smirked slightly and nodded.

"You got it." He disappeared then and I stepped in front of Jazmine, with Genma between us. I noticed him sigh slightly as his voice became a little more silent.

"The Hokage requires that I tell you both if you, Rin, lose control like you had in the preliminaries I will be forced to stop this match." I nodded slightly and noticed the cross look in Jazmine's eyes as he looked at her.

"Both your senseis have agreed so there will be no argument, if I feel the match must be stopped then it will be. Understood?" We both nodded as we stood straight.

"Jazmine Haruno versus Rin Uchiha, are you ready?" I nodded as I held Jazmine's gaze and noticed the faltering grin on her face and almost reluctance in her eyes as she also nodded.

"Very well" Genma raised an arm and after a second brought it down between us.

"Begin!"
