Chapter 38: The Uchiha Siblings [Naruto]

Naruto

I had thought Rin was dead but was just as surprised as Sasuke when a giant snake shot from the sand. She could use the summoning just as well as I could. I made fast hand signs and slammed my hand into the ground.

“Summoning jutsu!” I kept my balance smirking slightly as I stood on top of Gamabunta matching Rin’s height. I looked over to her slightly shocked to see the black chakra swirling around her.

“What…Not you again, what is this!?” I stumbled slightly when his head turned glancing to Rin.

“What the hell are you doing here!?” They both shouted. I noticed Rin sigh as she looked down at the snake.

“I don’t care how much you hate each other Manda you already said that you would help me!”

“The Uchiha Princess summons snakes?” She looked over to me raising her eyebrow.

“No Rin Uchiha summons snakes and I’m not your opponent that thing is!” Gamabunta followed to where she pointed and stared at the one tails.

“Naruto we can do this!” I nodded slightly.

“What do you say? Will you fight alongside me chief toad?”

“This time, just hold on kid!”

Rin

I shielded my eyes from the blast of wind as Naruto and his toad shot forward slamming his katana into the one tails. It was if the toad weighed nothing, the one tails just shrugging him off. Manda shot to the side suddenly and I dropped to my knee’s barely holding on as the giant katana slammed into ground where we had just been creating another gust of wind.

“You alright kid?”

“Yeah I’m…” I trailed off staring at the head of the one tails as Gaara appeared.

“What the hell is that.”

“A spiritualist medium” I stood up looking down at Manda.

“What?”

“If that kid falls asleep it’s all over, the one tails will have its full power.” I turned back looking at Gaara as he looked up. I wanted to shout his name, to do something but as I met his gaze I saw nothing just plain white. He made a hand sign and I noticed his body beginning to sag.

“He’s going through with it…”

“We have to…” I trailed off when I met the gaze of the one tail.

“So I finally get to meet the Uchiha Princess in person” I glared at him as I stood straight.

“I’m going to save Gaara and send you back under his control!” He laughed a dark laugh as he faced me.

“I have control, I’ve always had control…”

“Then why couldn’t Gaara kill me even when I begged for it!?” He fell silent then before a slight smirk came to his face.

“We’ll Princess if you wish for death so badly then I will grant it to you!”

“Manda now!” He shot forward ducking under the one tails and managed to coil around him his fangs sinking through his neck as I jumped from Manda and onto the back of the one tails.

“What the…” The sand from his back shot up grabbing my ankles and wrists pulling me back. I groaned slightly as I struggled against it. This wasn’t possible, he had to have a blind stop. I looked up towards Naruto. I had to give him an opening. I felt something around my waist and was suddenly torn from the sand as Manda retreated.

“Do you have a better plan kid?” He dropped me back on his head as we stared at the one tails. I had to do it, I knew the jutsu I had to use.

“Yes…” I looked over at Naruto and his blue eyes met mine.

“When you see the black flames that’s when you strike, but don’t touch them.” I could see the confusion in his eyes but ignored it. He would understand soon.

“Manda I need to get on the ground.” He lowered quickly and I jumped off landing on both feet.

“Thank you for your aid but I need to do this alone.” I explained. There was no argument just a huff and he disappeared. I took a breath before shooting towards the one tails. This was my team, and I had to save them even if it meant losing my own life. I slid a stop the moment he looked down and made fast hand signs.

“Foolish Princess you think you can defeat me with your ninjutsu!” I felt the charka that had been swirling around me move into my arms and slammed my hands into the ground.

“Ninja art dark style, dark chain jutsu!” I looked up as chains shot from the ground taking the one tails ankles and chaining down his body. I rose to my feet focusing on the one tails. After this it was all on Naruto. This was it, my final jutsu the only thing that had a chance of slowing the beast down. I made the single hand sign that I had seen Itachi only use once before. I looked at my target smirking slightly.

“Amaterasu”

Sasuke

I had left Sakura with the dog and was now running to find Rin. I had seen the black flames and the chains that attacked the beast. It couldn’t have been Naruto and that left only Rin. I slid a stop once I found her in a clearing not too far from where the beast had fallen. I could see the strain she was putting herself, her body shaking and heard her gasp in pain as her hands covered her eyes.

“Rin that’s enough it’s over!” She looked back at and I took a step back, blood dripped from both her eyes but neither contained three tomes. It was different.

“I-I have to put out the f-flames st-still” Her eyes turned back to the flames and slowly they disappeared. I stared at her back as her hand rose touching her chest.

“S-Sasuke I…” She seemed to double over coughing violently into her hands. I ran to her side catching just as she fell and pulled her into my arms.

“Rin, Rin what’s wrong…” Her eyes faded so her dark eyes finally met mine a slight smile came to her face.

“I-I love you…” She whispered. I felt her body fall limp in my arms as her hand fell from mine and made a soft thud on the ground.

“Rin…” I shook her gently but she didn’t respond. I slowly lowered my ear to her chest and listened, listened for anything but was greeted by a fading sound.

“No, no Rin you can’t…” I stopped myself from saying the word and lifted her into my arms before getting to my feet. I broke into a full sprint towards the village, she would survive, no matter what I would make sure of it.

Gaara

In truth I never understood the power that Rin truly held and I had never intended to be the one that brought it out; even now as I lay here watching Naruto I could feel her slipping away almost as if she were fading. I had lost control and now the only person that ever truly cared for me was dying and for the first time in a long time I felt guilt. I looked at Naruto as Kankuro pulled me to my feet and let me lean my weight against him. This kid, Naruto Uzumaki, was like me and in that way he shared the same bond to Rin. Even in his eyes I could see that he knew something was wrong. He defeated me and truly that put me in my place. He was like me only he chose to stand up instead fall into the darkness.

“Naruto…” He looked up at me still from the ground.

“Tell Rin Uchiha that I am sorry.” He nodded slightly finally giving into his exhaustion and the three of us broke off into the forest.

“Kankuro…Temari.” I could feel there gazes on me.

“I’m sorry…” There was a stunned silence for a moment until Kankuro spoke.

“Don’t worry about it Gaara.” I knew this was just a start but I could change. I would see Rin again, she was stronger than this, I knew she was and the next time I see her I’ll want be a better person all thanks to Konoha’s knuckleheaded Shinobi Naruto Uzumaki.
