Rin

I sat on my knees as I held my hands to Sakura’s back giving her the chakra boost she needed. I knew Naruto and Sasuke both had a larger amount of chakra within them but it was just a matter of controlling it. Sasuke was making decent progress but Naruto didn’t seem to understand the concept.

“Hey Rin can I talk to Sakura?” I looked up at Naruto as he walked over to us.

“Yeah sure I was just finishing up. How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine don’t worry.” I lowered my hands from Sakura’s back and smiled.

“Okay I’ll go check on Sasuke then.”  I got to my feet leaving the two of them alone as I walked over to Sasuke.

“Hello there Mister Uchiha” He glanced at me then back at tree.

“It just takes practice. I was the same when I first started.”

“Did you learn from Zabuza?” I shook my head.

“No I tapped into my chakra network when I was four. Itac-” I stopped myself then before I could finish the sentence. He glanced at me and sighed shaking his head.

“Seems you trained a lot when you were little.”

“Never by Dad though. I was girl and could never amount to my brothers remember?” He chuckled slightly as his dark eyes looked at me.

“If only he could see you now. He’d be proud.” I smiled slightly then as I pulled him into hug.

“He’d be proud of you to Sasuke and so would mom.” I whispered. I felt his arms wrap around me as he hugged me back.

“I thought you would hate me, after leaving you like that.” I heard hm sigh as he let me go and met my gaze.

“Never you’re my baby sister Rin and I love you, no matter what okay?” I smiled then and nodded.

“I love you too Sasuke” He smiled slightly as he looked back at the tree. I sighed lightly.

“You have to relax” He glanced back at me.

“Don’t put too much thought into it, just let it come naturally. It’s in our blood to be naturally gifted so let your instincts take over a bit.” He nodded turning back to the tree as I walked off to Kakashi.

“That was a touching sibling moment.” I smiled slightly and nodded.

“It happens, even with Sasuke.”

“You’re the only person he’d be that kind to anyways.” I shrugged knowing it was true.

“I’m going to stay here and watch the boy’s train why don’t you take Sakura and guard Tazuna. He should already be at the bridge.” I shrugged again.

“Sure why not. Maybe if Zabuza shows up this time I’ll fight decently.” I heard him chuckle as I began walking.

“Hey Sakura c’mon we have to go guard Tazuna!” She nodded jumping to her feet and running to catch up with me. I guess this would be beat standing around all day.

Sakura

When we were little all the girls envied Rin but still wanted to be her friend. She was cute, smart and skilled and had totally hot older brothers. I guess in that way all of us girls that loved Sasuke were lucky since they were related. Though Rin was a close friend then, I had even slept over at the Uchiha Compound but that was before everything changed. Now not many girls wanted anything to do with Rin. She had come back different but that’s not the only reason they despised her. Now we were older, now we could be interested in guys and guys could be interested in us to. Now Rin wasn’t cute she was pretty and smarter and even more skilled. To top that off she was the Uchiha Princess. She was basically a big threat to all the girls in the Konoha but no one would dare touch her. Most girls figured it was better to live in silent hatred then anger Sasuke by hurting his sister.

“Are you two always this lazy?” I looked up at Tazuna and glanced at Rin who was resting against the railing of the bridge with her onyx eyes cast to the open water. I didn’t expect her to respond but she turned looking at Tazuna with a small smirk on her face.

“Its best if were rested in case Zabuza shows up.” She said smoothly. He rolled his eyes and she giggled.

“I’m kidding, we’ll not really I mean he could show his face when ever but you’re safe.” He nodded slightly as he looked at her.

“I believe you.” She smiled then as she jumped up to sit on the railing and Tazuna returned to his work.

“Rin what if Zabuza did show up?” She sighed lightly as she looked at the workers.

“We’d evacuate everyone as quickly as possible. I’d use a barrier jutsu to contain the fight while you got Tazuna to safety and alerted Kakashi.”

“You’d fight him alone?” She nodded and met my gaze.

“Our number one priority is to protect Tazuna. If were both fighting there is no one to protect him and no one to get Kakashi.” I nodded slightly.

“So what did you really want to ask?” I looked back at her.

“What?”

“What’s really on your mind?” I sighed then and shrugged.

“Sasuke, he hates me.” I heard her laugh and frowned slightly.

“He doesn’t hate you Sakura; right now he just has other things on his mind than a relationship.” I nodded slightly.

“What do you mean?” She shrugged.

“We’ll training, getting stronger, holding up the Uchiha name, revenge, taking care of me, and being the best big brother he can be even though he already is.” I nodded again.

“You really care about him don’t you?”

“He’s my big brother, all that I left of my family and I don’t think anyone could really comprehend the bond that we share and the amount of love we have for each other. I mean he may not show it but I know and I can feel it.” I nodded slightly.

“Are we still friends? You know like when we were kids.” Rin smiled then.

“Of course we are, I mean I hope we are. I love Shikamaru and all but having a girl friend is always great to.” I smiled then and nodded in agreement as we returned our gazes to Tazuna and his workers. I guess I envied Rin, just a little, but I was still glad to have her as a friend.
