Rin
Did you have those moments where you felt everyone was watching you? I was having one of them right now, only it wasn't just a feeling. I could see everyone staring and they were making no point in trying to hide it. Sasuke was one thing but unfortunately, the Uchiha Princess was something else. The whispers seemed to immediately ripple across the room and I felt my stomach churn. I never realized how much I was watched until now which made me think, what if someone saw what just happened with Kakashi?
"Hey Princess" I turned only to face a smirking Shikamaru. I released a sigh of relief.
"Nearly gave me a heart attack Shikamaru." He shrugged as he walked up to me. I smiled as he threw his arm around my shoulders already feeling more at ease with him.
"I was worried when I saw your team come in without you." I smiled slightly.
"Kakashi was just giving me some advice." He nodded slightly.
"Looks like all the rookies are back together," I noted as I looked around the room.
"Are you including yourself in this?" I rolled my eyes slightly as I scanned the room and finally noticed some kid Sasuke was speaking to.
"Who is that?" I whispered to Shikamaru.
"You really don't pay attention, his name is Kabuto, and he's taken these exams seven times." I nodded slightly, there was something familiar about this kid but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
"We'll you get the point the competition is going to be intense this year."
"Do you really think it's going to be that tough?" Sakura asked. The boy Kabuto nodded.
"Out of my four years coming, I've never seen a crop of candidates with such potential. We've got our work cut out for us especially your team." I raised my eyebrow as he motioned to Sasuke.
"Why my team?" He got to his feet then and made a glance back to me.
"The Uchiha Princess is on your team, there are a number of people interested in fighting her." I met his gaze as he walked to me.
"The first girl born to the head family, developing the Sharingan at age five, completing it only a few years later. Missing for six years and coming back nearly unscathed." He took my hand and I felt Shikamaru tense around me.
"The beautiful, strong, skilled, wanted Princess Rin of the Uchiha clan. It is an honour to meet you Princess" It seemed the moment he lowered his lips to meet my hand was the same moment in which Sasuke shoved me back into Shikamaru's arms.
"That's my baby sister" He hissed putting an emphasis on baby. Kabuto chuckled and stood straight.
"My apologies, I may have gotten carried away. See you around Princess." I watched him leave as Sasuke turned around.
"You didn't react?"
"It was nothing Sasuke, you get used to it. You have girls attacking you left and right." I argued.
"That's girls, boys are stronger. I don't want you getting hurt and I'm sure Shikamaru would agree." I glanced up at Shikamaru who sighed but nodded.
"He's right Rin, we don't know his jutsu, and some ninja are good enough to use them just by touch." I sighed lightly as Shikamaru released me. Shikamaru was the only boy that Sasuke ever approved of being around me. Out of all the rookies, when we were kids it was always me, Sasuke, and Shikamaru that hung out the most. I snapped from my thoughts as Naruto suddenly shouted and pointed at the group of ninja sitting around the desks.
