Rin

It didn't surprise me, the rain. It always rained when something was about to happen and as I stood before the Uchiha compound gates I knew exactly what it was. The yellow tape now hung limp and faded. No one had been in here in years but I had to see it, again, before I left. I don't know why, but it felt wrong if I didn't. It was here I decided to leave the first time and it would be here that I'd leave the second. I took a step forward but could feel my own reluctance as I made it closer to the tape. My hands were shaking as I took hold of it and pulled it off. I released a steady breath.

"You can do this Rin" I muttered finally stepping through the gates. I wrapped my arms tightly around myself as I continued my walk. It was like I could hear them, the laughter, and multiple conversations of my family. The running feet of the police force ninja going on missions.

"Rin!" I turned at the sound of my cousin's voice but was quick to realize it was all in my head. Setsuna was dead, Kai was dead, Jiro was dead, Renji was dead, and mom and dad were dead.

"Rin!" I turned again hearing the voice.

"Rin, Rin, Rin..." I pushed my hands over my ears trying to block them but they all seemed to get louder. I broke into a full sprint then trying to run from them, the compound roads beginning to blend and confuse me as I ran blindly through the rain. I threw open a set of doors and tripped over the door frame slamming hard into the wood floor. I had to lie there as the voices seemed to dull to a whisper beneath the rain pelting the roof. I took slow breaths as I got up on my hands and knees and looked around realizing where I was. I slowly crawled forward staring at the two outlines, the chalk outline had faded some and the bloodstains had turned brown but still there they were and the tears began to spill as I saw a flash of my parent's bodies. I reached out touching the faded chalk outlines and felt my heart sink.

"I'm sorry" I whispered wrapping my arms around me as I bent forward, my forehead nearly touched the ground and rainwater dripped from my soaked hair as the tears began to flow.

"I'm sorry" I repeated. I couldn't stop Itachi, I couldn't stop Sasuke and I felt farther from my goal than I ever have before. I wanted to hate them but it wasn't possible, they were my older brothers no matter what they did; they're my Itachi and my Sasuke and I would fix this. Like I promised Dad, no matter, I would protect my older brothers. I released a steady breath as I uncurled myself from the floor and sat up. I felt heavy and tired like I was carrying the world on my shoulders and was somewhat surprised that I found the energy to get back on my feet. I stared at the outlines a moment longer before returning to the heavy rain outside. I walked slowly pausing at where I had knocked out and left Sasuke so many years prior. I released a steady breath and closed my eyes. One, two, and three Anbu; as usual there were three.

"This is it" I muttered wiping the tears from my cheeks knowing that raindrops had already replaced them. I reached for a kunai and opened my eyes turning sharply the kunai flying from my hand and into the trees. I heard a sharp gasp and watched as the body of Anbu hit the wet ground with a thud, the kunai embedded deep into his throat.

"One down" I spoke a little more clear and felt a presence behind me. I glanced over my shoulder at the Anbu and took the handle of my katana.

"Princess what on..." I appeared behind him and with one fluid motion I slit his throat and he dropped to the ground.

"You know you Anbu aren't very impressive!" I shouted trying to gain the attention of the last. If I wanted to know one to follow, they had to know that I was that empty page in the bingo book and for them to believe that I had to prove it. It was the only way I could make sure that Lady Tsunade sent no one after me. I heard feet hit the earth and broke into a sprint towards the sound. I jumped up onto the rooftops following the Anbu as he ran through the Compound streets.
