Chapter 35: The Uchiha Siblings [Naruto]

Kakashi

Rin had been watching Sasuke’s match with intensity that I forgot she possessed. Since the beginning of the match her eyes hadn’t left them. She had come up from the infirmary a few minutes ago, but left Jazmine there resting and after assuring Sakura, Ino and Choji that Jazmine was alright they shuffled over making room for her to sit and watch the match.

“Something’s wrong.” I looked down at Rin and back at the match. Gaara had in cased himself in a dome of sand and Sasuke was making quick hand signs. Rin pushed from my arm as the chidori appeared in Sasuke’s hand and he shot forward.

“Sasuke st…” I noticed her freeze, just suddenly stop when Sasuke’s hand broke through the defence.

“Rin…” It was silent until a scream was heard. I caught Rin’s arm as Sasuke was pushed back from the barrier.

“Rin you can’t interfere he’s doing fine!”

“It’s not Sasuke I’m worried about!” I met her gaze and nearly let her go at the fear I saw in her eyes. I noticed her flinch as growl came from the sand dome. She turned her eyes again focusing on the match. The sand fell from Gaara and he stood breathing heavily with a hand covering his shoulder where Sasuke had landed the hit.

“Kakashi…”

“Rin stay put” I warned. I noticed her sharingan activate and thought she was going to fight me until I noticed the genjutsu beginning to fall around us.

“It’s starting” I muttered putting my hands together and releasing the jutsu from me. Rin pulled a kunai as five ninja appeared in front of us behind them Sasuke had taken off after Gaara.

“Just back me up.” I smirked slightly. Talk about a change of attitude.

Rin

I jumped at the same time as Kakashi towards Sakura landing back to back with him as we killed the two sound ninja that had tried to reach her.

“It was worth teaching you genjutsu during survival training Sakura; you really have a talent for it.” I jumped down following Kakashi as he returned to the stairs, his eye looking back to Sakura and then to me.

“I’m giving you a mission.”

“A mission?” I questioned and he nodded.

“The first A-Rank since the land of waves which is why I want you to lead it” I stared at him in disbelief but there all was seriousness in his eyes.

“You want me to lead a mission?” He nodded.

“Follow Sasuke, choose who you want to take with you and make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid.”

“But Kakashi…”

“You are well reaching my level Rin; I know you can do this” I sighed clenching my fists slightly but nodded.

“Sakura go wake Shikamaru and Naruto then we’ll head out.”

“Okay” I felt Kakashi’s hand take mine and his hand brush my hair behind my ear.

“Don’t be reckless.” I smiled slightly and shrugged.

“I’m the leader of this team Kakashi, there life comes first.” He sighed and I was surprised when he pulled me into his arms and held me tightly.

“Please be careful Rin.” I could feel his concern; it was a powerful emotion dominating his others. I looked up at him and let my eyes fade.

“I will be.”

“Behind you!” I turned running forward as the sound ninja ran for Naruto.

“Back off!” I slammed him into the wall and noticed his eyes widen.

“So f-Fast…” I smirked.

“I’m an Uchiha idiot. Now Gai sensei!” I jumped back as Gai shot forward slamming him through the wall. I looked at the others.

“You four have you’re mission Shikamaru, Sakura and Naruto your squad leader is Rin understood!?” They looked at Kakashi Sensei then back at me and nodded.

“Alright I’ll explain the mission as we head out, let’s move!” I shouted. I looked down just noticing the ninja dog Kakashi had summoned.

“I’ll lead.” He told me before taking off. I motioned for the others to follow and gave a quick wave to Kakashi before taking off. This was it, my first mission as a leader. These three lives were now in my hands and I will do anything to protect them.
