CHAPTER NINE:
Friends, Foes and Flashbacks

"Are you ready?" Itachi's voice echoes in Kana's mind as she stands up from the large and spacious couch with her cloak in her hand.

"Yeah." she responds as she walks to the entry of the Akatsuki base. Itachi performs several hand signs to unseal the entrance and remove the large boulder. Kana takes this time to slip on her cloak, looking very fabulous while doing so.

Together, they walk out and begin their long journey. It's an estimated three days on foot, leaving time for a fun and exciting chat between Kana and Itachi! Note the sarcasm.
Neither of them speak a word, just continue walking.

"Why didn't I think of that earlier." Itachi says under his breath. Kana cocks her head to the side in confusion.
Is he talking to himself?
Should she ask?

Kana sucks it up and opens her mouth.

"Think of what?" she asks. Itachi looks at her.

"Flying Thunder God." he says the name of Kana's inherited ability. She looks at him with an obviously surprised face. "You can do that, right?" he confirms.

"Well, yeah. That's somewhere very far away to teleport to, though... I mean my seal of confrontation is all over that village but like I said before. It's really far away and I've never teleported such a long distance before. I don't even know if it's possible. My jutsu utilises the space time continuum, so teleporting somewhere so far away in such a short amount of time could potentially be dangerous."

This is the most that they have spoken to each other.

Kana developed the ability to use the Flying Raijin Techinque after brutal training with her elder brother. The only people who have ever been known to perform this technique are: Minato Namikaze, Kana's late brother, Tobirama Senju, the second Hokage and Kana Namikaze, Konoha's Last Yellow Flash.

Kana taps her chin as she remains deep in thought, trying to think of all the possibilities of what could happen if she tries to teleport such a distance.

"Is that the only way you can flash? If your seal has been placed?" he asks curiously, wanting to learn more about the jutsu. Kana hums as she thinks of how to explain it. The long speech Pain gave her the day she joined the Akatsuki replays in her mind.

"To activate the Flying Thunder God technique, the user usually places a special seal to mark an intended destination. After this is done, the user can then, at will, enter a dimensional void that instantaneously teleports them to the location of the seal. The mark can be applied to almost any surface through brief physical contact, including on an opponent or other surrounding features. But... I'm different. My own seal is constantly being placed on everything I touch... anything I come in contact with from head to toe invisibly recieves my confrontation marking. When I first started learning the 'flashing' technique, I kept forgetting to place the confrontational seal that Minato ordered me to. Which meant I got in trouble, so I overcompensated and started subconsciously placing my seal everywhere I went. After being taught how to place the seal by my brother, I practiced and practiced and practiced, until it became a habit. I eventually learned to flash short distances without a seal, too. But before that, leaving my seal everywhere I touched became as natural as breathing to me." Kana explains.

"Amazing." Itachi mutters in disbelief. Her cheeks begin to turn red so she looks away sheepishly. Itachi Uchiha is praising her.

They remain silent for a moment.

"Alright," she gives in. "I'd much rather give the Flying Thunder God a shot than have to walk for three days to get to The Leaf Village so give me your hand." she concludes.
