CHAPTER FIFTY NINE
The Truth Revealed
_________________________"Y-You what?" her voice is strained.
"You heard me. I was the nurse that aided in birthing you." Tsunade frowns and stares down at the flowers beneath her. "That day was..." as if she suddenly realised that she said too much, her head snaps up and she looks Kana in the eyes.
"What? What is it, Tsunade? Tell me." Kana sits up straight after feeling any traces of pain fade away from her healing ability.
"I can't."
"Tsunade, do you even know me? Do you think that I will even, for a second, leave you alone until you tell me about that day?"
Itachi cradles his newborn baby girl in his arms while listening to the two girls' intense argument.
"What were you told about your mother's death?" Tsunade asks.
"She died of chakra loss... because birthing me was too much for her body to handle, and I consumed any of her remaining chakra reserves." Kana quickly answers.
Tsunade bites down on her bottom lip before shaking her head solemnly. "That's not true."
"What do you mean!? What do you fucking mean!? Which part isn't true?" her underlying tone leaves Tsunade nervous, as if Kana is about to explode.
"Kana, the baby..." Itachi says softly in regards to the swearing.
"Oh, shit, sorry." she quickly says to Itachi. He shakes his head in disapproval. "What do you flipping mean?" she turns back to Tsunade.
"Good girl."
"Just after your mother pushed you out, an explosion sounded in the hospital. A man burst through the door and tried to kidnap you. Your
mother passed you to me and forced me to flee in order to save you.... she died at his hands."a/n: about to post the next chapter as well due to the shortness of this one. hope you enjoy! x
