CHAPTER SIXTY
Two Mothers

"Kana, don't!"

Itachi is too late, The Yellow Flash was already on top of Tsunade in the brief moment between his quick heartbeats.

She's grinding her teeth together in anger and her pretty face is contorted in frustration.

"Why didn't you save her!?" she raises her clenched fist to slam it into Tsunade's head. The one person who could have saved Kana's mother, is on the ground before her. Her first natural instinct is violence.

Tsunade doesn't say anything, nor does she try to block. She manoeuvres her face to the side, as if she is inviting Kana to swing at her.

"I was scared." Tsunade responds with regret filling her teary eyes.

Kana fliches before slowly lowering her hand back down to her side.

"I shouldn't blame you." Kana speaks softly. "You were just doing as you were told." she stands up and extends her hand out to Tsunade, who takes it and is helped off the ground.

"Motherhood looks good on you, Kana. I hope you stay this level headed and peaceful." she lightly dusts off her green haori and lets out a sigh of relief that Kana decided not to damage her face.

Both female's continue to tease and gnash at one another for all that has happened, but secretly they both crave a fight. A true, fair and equal fight between two ninja to discover who is physically stronger. No jutsu, just fists.

"I won't." Kana warns dangerously.

She moves closer to Itachi and Reika, giving her newborn baby a loving kiss on the forehead.

"Come here." she demands and holds out her hand. Tsunade grabs on, while Kana touches both Itachi and Rei with her fingertips. Everybody is overwhelmed with a momentary sense of disconnection from the earth, before their eyes open and it takes them a moment to realise they are standing firmly on the ground.

"Kana! You're back!" Raidon jumps up from sitting cross legged on the grass and rushes over to them.

"Hey, Raidon." she smiles widely and ruffles his hair.

"Who's that?" he points up at the small baby in Itachi's arms.

"Let me meet her!" Karin squeals and runs over, followed by all of the other members who move quickly from pure excitement.

"Kakuzu, just come. Even an old man who has seen that many decades must still be amazed at new life." Konan insists eagerly.

"No. I hate children. They are disgusting." he replies stoically.

Konan's patience runs out as she uses her paper manipulation to wrap around Kakuzu's wrist and instantly pull him towards Reika in Itachi's arms.

He stares down at the baby.

Rei lifts her arms out of the blanket wrapped around her and twitches her tiny fingers in the air up at Kakuzu.

His eyes widen.

"Hn, what a precious little bubba." Deidara grins. The stress coursing through all of the Akatsuki while they waited was tremendous. After hearing about Karin discovering the baby's ability to consume surrounding chakra, they weren't sure if Kana would make it.

Kana steps away from the crowd of people trying to see her daughter.

"Well, a deal is a deal." her voice captures every person's attention.

Complete silence takes over.

"Raidon, listen to me, okay?" he looks up at her and nods his head. "Tsunade is your mommy. Your real mommy. She gave birth to you and she loves you very very much. This woman will not let anybody harm you, and can give you more than I can. You're an angel, little Raidon. You taught me how to be a mother before I was one, and I am forever grateful to you for that." Raidon is looking at the ground and is about to cry. Kana puts her hand under the little boy's chin and lifts it slightly so his eyes are meeting her's. "If you ever miss me, remember your name... because I am the one who gifted it to you. I'll always be with you."

She takes her hand of the boy's chin and places it on his back. Her strength pulls him forward and he collapses into her arms. Kana holds the little boy close and warmly hugs him.

"Bye bye, Kana. Thank you for everything." he says.

"Go look after Tsunade, okay? She's getting pretty old." he nods, turns around, and starts running to Tsunade who is kneeling with her arms open for him.

"Tsunade, I trust when you arrive back at the Village, nobody will hear about the location of our current Akatsuki base, right?"

"Yes. Nobody. Th-Thank y-" Tsunade is cut off mid sentence by Kana raising her hand up to silence her.

"Don't thank me, Tsunade. You made me a mother today. I simply did the same thing in return."
