CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN
Never Stopping

"Since you proved that you are in fact capable of looking after yourself and your child, I'm sending you on your next mission." Pain states.
Kana clasps her hands together in joy. "Yay! New mission!" she exclaims excitedly.
"We're going to retrieve the six tails. Utakata." Pain stands up.
She pauses. "We?" Kana raises an eyebrow.
"Yes, I'm going with you." Pain declares.
"No you're not." she denies and raises her hand.
"Yes, I am." he walks past her and Kana trails behind him drowning in confusion.
"Like you just said, I proved I can look after us." she says and gestures to her belly.
"Yes, but that doesn't mean you won't need help with this. The Akatsuki work in two men teams and Itachi is on another mission with Kisame." Pain parts the water and walks out, holding the parting for Kana as well.
She sighs and walks through with a 'thanks'.
They travel in comfortable silence.
"There." Pain points in the direction of a man. He is wearing a pretty light blue kimono. He's very handsome looking.
"What's the plan?" she asks her leader.
"There isn't one." he jumps down and walks calmly towards Utakata.
"Great!" Kana complains before following his lead.
Utakata spins around to face the pair.
"Who are you?" he asks.
"The saviours of the world. You see, there's something inside of you that we need." Pain's dramatic speech begins. "May we have it?" he asks.
"Over my dead body." Utakata replies.
"Alright." Pain nods and points to him. "Go."
Kana leaps forward and mid-air weaves hand signs. "Wind Style: Wind Dragon!" she inhales and blows out a gigantic gust of wind. The wind slashes him, but he wasn't the main target.
The dragon barricades into the mountain of rocks, and it instantly collapses. Utakata gets caught under several and he is crushed at the bottom.
"That was easy." Kana mumbles before sliding down the rubble to squat beside the jinchuriki. He blows a mass amount of bubbles out of an object before he passes out.
"Carry him back." Pain demands.
"You're making the pregnant one carry the body?" she purposely tugs on his few emotions. Pain's eye twitches.

"You went on a mission?" Itachi asks as Kana and Pain enter the base. She nods her head. "Everything went okay?" he asks.
Pain throws the body hanging from his shoulder onto the floor.
Kana smiles. "Of course. You doubt me so much just because I'm pregnant now... I promise I'm still the same girl you've always known."
"You're right." Itachi nods.
Hidan scoffs from the corner. "What's with the obsession with each other? You were apart for less than a day." he states with an eye roll.
"What's your problem? You've never complained before." she argues.
"Whatever." Hidan waves his hand dismissively and walks away from the group. Kana's happy mood deflates.
"Who cares what Hidan says." Konan speaks up reassuringly. "Never stop being that in love with each other."
