CHAPTER SIXTY THREE
The Interference

"Sasuke has been what?"

"Declared a rogue ninja. By Danzo. Lady Tsunade suffered severely from using her hundred healings technique and has fallen into a coma, which has left Danzo as the Hokage." Katsuyu informs the Akatsuki.

Just before Tsunade left to go back to the Hidden Leaf, Kana and her made a deal that they would continue relaying important information to one another through her summoning slug, Lady Katsuyu, who Kana knows very well.

"You're joking." Kana mumbles as she rubs her forehead with her hand.

Katsuyu looks down solemnly. "I am afraid not, Lady Kana. Sasuke reportedly attacked the Raikage's brother, Killer Bee, under someone's orders. The person directing him is unknown, but apparently Sasuke and his accomplices were seen wearing Akatsuki cloaks. Do you know anything about this?" Lady Katsuyu looks at the members surrounding her.

"No. I had no idea." she answers truthfully. Her head turns to view the others. "Did any of you?"

"No." they all admit.

"This is terrible. Naruto and Sakura are so upset..." Katsuyu's already soft voice becomes even softer due to her distress from the whole situation.

Kana glances to her side where Itachi remains. His face is contorted in confusion as he stares at the ground, deep in thought.

"Holy..." Kana stares wide eyed at the destruction of the Leaf Village. There isn't a single Konoha guard keeping watch or scouting the area for suspicious people. Which made the infiltration for Itachi, Sasori and Kana that much easier.

Every villager is helping to reconstruct shops, stalls, houses and buildings that have been utterly destroyed.

"I can't believe it." her heart aches at the sight of her old home. If she hadn't left the village to join the Akatsuki... she could have openly protected the village with all of her strength. It wouldn't have turned out like this.

Kana's eyes dart around the village. "Where's Naruto?" she queries to herself out loud. She can't sense his strong presence as easily as she should be able to.

"Our mission is to observe Danzo and discover his motives. Not find Naruto." Sasori sighs at his comrades easy distraction.

Itachi speaks to Sasori who is standing on the other side of Kana, "You and I can complete the mission. Let her go see her nephew." he argues.

Sasori sighs once again in defeat. "Fine."

"We will meet you in ten minutes. Don't get into any fights, be careful." he glides his fingertip along her ring finger then gently lifts up her hand. Itachi presses their palms together and interlocks their fingers. Kana nods in agreement before flashing away.

A moment after she vanishes, Sasori chuckles.

"What is it?" Itachi asks as they transform into Hidden Leaf ninja and jump down into what remains of the village.

Sasori smirks. "You really think that there's even the slightest chance your fiancée won't get into any fights?"

Naruto rests his palm on Sakura's back. The pink haired kunoichi is collapsed on the ground with her hands covering her face as she sobs in front of two Hidden Cloud ninja. One male, one female.

"Tell us everything you know about Sasuke... now." the red haired female Cloud ninja points at Naruto. He looks downwards for a moment.

Sakura and Sai take their leave.

Kana watches from a branch high above them with curiosity.

So the Hidden Cloud ninja have come to gather intel on Sasuke, then.
Kana thinks to herself as she observes Karui unnecessarily shove Naruto hard against the wall.

Hit him. I dare you.
his overprotective aunty thinks with narrowed eyes.

"I'm sorry... I- I just can't do it. I won't betray Sasuke..." Naruto murmurs. Her arm presses harder against his neck. "I understand your desire for revenge." he says. "But if you let your hatred rule and you kill Sasuke, this time, my comrades may not put up with it! This vicious cycle will start all over again! The people we want to protect will kill each other off one after another!" his meaningful words strike Kana.

"Your Sasuke is the one who started it all!" Karui angrily fires back with haste. "I don't give a damn what you say! We're going to kill Sasuke!" she shouts in his face.

"Beat me up until your heart's content." Naruto looks away as he speaks. "That's about all I can offer..."

Just as he finishes speaking, Karui swings her right fist with such force that Naruto is knocked off his feet. His body slams into the ground and she climbs on top of him.

Smack!

Naruto asked for it, so Kana should allow a few hits.

Whack!

His loyalty to Sasuke is incomprehensible to most people. Any normal person can't understand that their bond is too strong, and far too impossible to be broken.

Bang!

Karui's fist raises to hit Naruto in the face again, when her hand suddenly becomes stuck mid air.

She turns around to see Kana holding her wrist with a strong grip. The loud snapping of a bone echoes through the silence before Kana effortlessly hurdles her into a sturdy nearby tree.

"Karui!" her partner shouts in shock. He turns back to look at Kana who is by Naruto's side, ensuring he is okay. "Akatsuki..." he observes her cloak.

"Kana?" Naruto's eye has been hit. He only received a few punches, yet the skin around his right eye is already swollen. "What are you... doing here?" he coughs blood up.

Kana makes a 'tsk' noise and quickly wipes away the blood with the sleeve of her cloak.

The red haired Hidden Cloud girl stands up and wipes smeared blood off her chin with the back of her broken hand. "I don't know who you are, or who you think you are, Akatsuki girl... but I was in the middle of having a conversation with that idiot over there. Now that you've arrived, I may have to gather some information from you as well... or I could beat it out of you." she spits with feistiness.

"Oh, shut up. You talk far too much." Kana snaps. Her attention turns to poor Naruto. "Hey now, are you alright?" she kneels down to his level and examines the swollen part of his face again to check for any internal bleeding.

"Kana, you can't be here. What if someone sees you?" Naruto stares up at her with concern.

"It's okay. Don't worry about me." she insists with a shake of her head. "You shouldn't allow yourself to be beaten up for Sasuke, Naruto. Value yourself more." she lectures her nephew. Naruto's lip curls up into a smile as he reminisces. When she was around, she constantly scolded him like a mother. He misses it.

"Y-You're not pregnant anymore... you've given birth already?" he asks as realisation suddenly hits him.

Kana chuckles at his slow reaction time. "Yeah. We decided on Reika Uchiha. We call her Rei for short. She's absolutely beautiful, and she has our eyes, Naru. I hope that you get to meet her one day." she smiles joyfully.

"Sorry to break up this reunion, but I'm not done getting intel on Sasuke. If you want to intrude on our conversation, fine. Let's fight." Karui draws out her long katana and points to both Kana and Naruto with it.
