Birds chirp softly in the distance and the bright sun blindingly radiates, illuminating the green forest.

Itachi and Kana stroll hand in hand through the peacefully quiet land surrounding the Akatsuki base.

"If we had another baby..." Itachi suddenly begins.

"Woah, woah, woah. Hold your horses, cowboy. I don't know if I can endure childbirth again. It was the worst pain I've ever felt. I think I nearly died." she responds quickly. Just the thought of it sends shivers down her spine. Kana has endured a hell of a lot of pain, and even torture, but that was definitely the worst.

Itachi chuckles at her answer. He raises their interlocked fingers and he presses his soft lips against the back of her hand.

A tinge of red appears on Kana's cheeks.

"You're blushing." he points out, only embarrassing her further.

"No I'm not. You are." she retorts.

"No, you."

"Actually, it's you."

"Definitely you."

With each word, Itachi's face leans closer and closer down to Kana's. She hastily pushes onto her tippy toes and leans up to kiss him, when he abruptly pushes her against a sturdy tree trunk.

One of his hands is firmply placed against the tree, trapping her in place, while the other is resting on her warm cheek.

"Kabedon. I like it." she teases.

Itachi touches her forehead with his lips.

A kiss on the cheek means admiration.

Kana's eyes flutter shut and he softly kisses her eyelid.

An angel kiss means deep affection.

Itachi drags his mouth to her ear and gently pecks it, letting his warm breath hit her skin.

A kiss on the ear means sexual tension and mischief.

Before Kana has even finished her thought Itachi is trailing his tongue along her collarbone and sending the girl into a world of pleasure.

A kiss on the collarbone means intimacy and seductiveness.

"Can I rephrase my earlier sentence?" he asks as he pulls back and stares into Kana's eyes. Itachi uses the tips of his fingers to gently brush her troublesome blonde har behind her ear. His perfect Uchiha face makes her melt.

Kana nods her head in a slight daze from all his loving affection.

"I want another baby." he whispers in her ear.

He purposefully doesn't give her a chance to respond. Instead he collides his lips into hers and instigates a long lasting, passionate make out.

"You want to make another baby right here?" Kana jokes after separating for air.

Itachi moves his face close again. "Wait, hold on. I know you want bub number two... but is it really wise to try before the war? Itachi, something could happen to the baby... or me."

After she says this Itachi's face turns instantly sour and he takes a step away from her.

Her skin becomes cold without his touch.

Kana sighs with a frown. "I know you don't like to think or talk about it, but it's a huge possibility I could die."

Itachi shakes his head. "No," he refuses. "You don't understand. I can't live without you."

"I know. Trust me I know, baby, but-."

"I don't want to talk about this any further."

Kana runs her hand through the roots of her hair and tugs in frustration that he won't even hear her out. "You're being unreasonable. It's important to talk about this. If something happens-"

He interrupts her again, saying, "If you die... we wouldn't have gotten married." his eyeline falls to the grass under their feet and he has the most pained look covering his face.

Her heart aches at his gut-wrenching words. "Then let's get married right now. A secret exchanging of vows. Just voicing how much love we have for one another."

Itachi looks up at her. A small sparkle in his eye appears and she can tell he likes the idea she just suggested.

Blue birds (a/n: ikimono gakari reference 😉) chirp playfully and fly in circles above their heads.

"I'll start." Itachi steps closer and fiddles with her slender fingers in his hands. "Kana Namikaze... I vow to always protect you. I vow to hold you in my arms whenever you are upset or hurt and remind you how much you mean to me. I vow to never lie to you, and never hide the truth from you. I vow that any male who makes an advance at you will die." Kana giggle at this. "I vow to keep that beautiful smile on your face day and night. I vow to be here for you through thick and thin and love you with all of my heart, every day of every year... until death do us part."

Itachi finishes his speech and wipes the tears falling from Kana's eyes with his thumb. She can't possibly stop smiling from his sweet words that are forever imprinted in her mind.

Kana clears her throat. "Itachi Uchiha, first of all, I love you. I love you so much that I might collapse to the ground one day from an overload of loving you so much. My body might not be able to handle it. I vow to always love you that much. I vow to protect you, too. I vow to break the neck of any girl that gets closer than a mile to you. I vow to cherish, and honour your sweet and blessed existence. I vow to never lie to you. I vow to carry another Uchiha baby... yours, of course. I promise to make you as happy as I possible can, and I vow to love you with all of my heart, every day of every year, until death do us part."

Itachi's magnificent smile makes Kana fall for him all over again.

"Forever." he says.

"Always." she answers.

2. there is an upcoming 4 chapter long-ass arc completely irrelevant to the war and i know y'all are hyped af about the war so the quicker i stream these fillers, the quicker we can get back to the lit shit!
