Chapter 14

When we reached his house, I stopped walking.

"What?"

"You said there was a bruise on my face last night..."

"Yeah.."

"Is it still there?"

He turned my chin so that he could see my right cheek as he frowned.

"Sadly, yes i-its still there.. sort of.."

"Ok.. What will Karen say about it?"

"I.... Lets just tell her you hit your cheek off your bedside table for now... just so she doesn't get too worried."

"Ok."

He smiled sadly and then we walked into the house. The first one I saw was Aaliyah and she was on Musical.ly.

"Hey Mum!"

"Hi Honey! Hi Megan!"

"Hey Karen."

"How've you been?"

"Uh.. I um.. I've been good."

"Oh thats- What happened to your cheek?"

"Uhm.. I uh..."

"She hit her cheek off her bedside table last night when she rolled over. It should be gone soon."

"Oh.. Alright then. Do you want something to eat?"

"Uh no thats alright I actually just got back from having dinner with someone I hope I never see again..."

"Alright well Shawn I have a meeting at work, I need you to watch Aaliyah."

"Why can't dad do it?"

"Because your father is at work."

"he's always at work mum! It's rare when he's home!"

"Don't raise your voice at me young man!"

He rolled his eyes as Karen left and we sat down next to Aaliyah.

"Megan I need to talk to you..."

"Ok."

"Alone..."

She looked at Shawn and he looked at me. I just smirked and he got up and walked away.

"Ok whats up?"

"Ok so theres this guy in my class, Raiden Gilinsky and-"

"Wait did you just say 'Gilinsky'?"

"Yeah.."
