Our school hosted a dinner as celebration for the successful Scav Hunt this year in a restaurant near the last location. I am so glad we won but I couldn't celebrate it because I noticed ever since my wrong send fiasco with Richard, sobrang cold niya. As in. Parang ewan. So ako na si lapit. Ako naman may mali eh.
"Huy. Grabe na yan ha. Pansinin mo nako."
"Pinapansin naman kita ah." That is his quick reply. Yung totoo?
"Sobra na Richard ha. Nag sorry na nga ako dun diba. Nagkamali lang po ng pindot."
"Sinabi ko naman na okay na. Asan ba si Jake? Himala, hindi kayo mag kasama." Sos. Alam ko na. Nagseselos Richard ko. Oo, inaangkin ko siya kahit di pa kami.
"Nagseselos ka no?" Natatawa kong tinanong. Agad agad rin naman siyang nag deny.
"Hindi ako nagseselos." Pero di ko na siya tinantanan.
"Selos. Selos si Richard." Tinatry ko pa dutdutin yung dimple niya pero sobrang pikon.
"Hindi nga ako nagseselos, ano ba. Dun ka na nga."
"Talaga? Ayaw mo nako dito? Alis nako?"
"Oo nga, dun ka na kay Jake"
"Sige. Sabi mo eh."
When I was about to get up and leave, he suddenly grabbed my arm and put me back to my seat. I couldn't stop the smile on my face and I knew I had him. Pero ang awkward kasi nakahawak pa rin siya sa braso ko. It was as if he was afraid that I would actually leave him.
"Kala ko ba ayaw mo na ko dito?" He totally ignored me and instead he shifted his seat and faced me.
"Iiwan mo talaga ako?" I was surprised at how serious and sad (and cute, please) he was all of a sudden. So I laughed and hit his arm lightly.
"Ano ka ba, pinagtritripan lang ikaw eh. Hindi kita iiwan no, dito lang ako kahit ayaw mo." I was still smiling and laughing lightly when I can see he still wasn't okay. I want to know what's bothering him so I know if I can do anything to make it all okay.
"Sa tingin mo talaga iiwan kita?"
"Patayo ka na nga eh." Natatawa nanaman ako, hay nako to. And then he suddenly added while getting ready to leave. "Tara, alis na tayo. Sabi naman, we can leave anytime. Gusto mo mag dessert?"
Agad agad? Sobrang labo talaga nito. Ang bilis magbago ng mood ah. So we left and decided to go for Mcdo drive-thru and I would order the usual.
"Plain sundae please!"
"You mean vanilla ice cream?" He would say matter-of-factly.
"No, I mean plain sundae."
"Pero that's just hot fudge sundae without the hot fudge and hot fudge sundae without the hot fudge is just vanilla ice cream."
I was about to argue, until the voice from the box was asking us for our orders. Richard goes first.
"I'll have a Mcflurry with oreos"
And I lean to his side to tell my order. "And I'll have a plain sundae please."
"So hot fudge sundae without the hot fudge ma'am?"
"Yes!" I replied with a goofy smile on my face.
Richard just laughed along with while shaking his head.
