Richard stopped me when we got to the lobby of the hotel.
"O, bakit?"
"Ano kasi eh, may surprise ako."
"Ano yun?"
"Surprise nga diba."
"Nakakainis! So ano na?" He took out a handkerchief from his pocket. "If you want me to keep my eyes shut, I will naman, hindi mo ko kailangan iblind fold."
"No no no, I know you." As he started to cover my eyes with the hanky.
"Hay nako. Pag ako hindi natuwa sa surprise na 'to ha."
"Trust me." He held my hand at the same time wrapping his other hand around my wait reaching for my other hand. This was how we walked.
"I swear Richard, pag nahulog tayong dalawa."
"Hindi pa ba tayo nahuhulog sa isa't isa?"
I elbowed him. "You know what I meant."
He was just laughing. "Almost there. Ang impatient naman."
I would have been crankier but then I felt that we were now walking on the sand. This actually got me excited.
"Can I remove my sandals and can you hold them for me? I want to walk on the sand." He laughed at this again. "Seryoso po ako."
"Mamaya na, malapit na tayo." He is still chuckling as I pouted at this. "Napakaimpatient naman ng Menggay ko." He said this as he kissed my head.
"Chansing pa."
"Ito na, ito na. Okay. Ready?"
"Kanina pa."
"Ang sungit naman. Ready?"
"Ready." I can hear him laughing again cause I kind of exaggerated the way I said ready to be really sweet and soft.
He untied the handkerchief and wow. I must say. I am impressed and lost for words.

"Upo na tayo." Richard literally had to drag me, cause I was just frozen on my spot. "Uy, okay ka lang? Say something."
"What's this?"
"Surprise."
"It's beautiful."
"Wala lang yan. Mas maganda ka pa rin." I had to roll my eyes at him on that one. "Tara na, upo na tayo." He led me to my seat just like a true gentleman.
Once he was seated, he claps his hand and has that bedimpled smile on his face that any girl would fall for. What are you thinking, Richard? Don't tell me you're proposing? Ang assuming mo Meng but the set up of this dinner is giving him away.
