Mine To Forget

3- Whats the big deal though?

 The news travels fast in this school. Everyone around me now knows me as the girl who went against Aiden. I don't see what the big deal is. The whole school thinks otherwise. 

The next day in school, I noticed a huge crowd and from that crowd, I saw Stacy making her way out.

"What is that commotion near the notice board about?" I asked as I stood
next to her

"Oh! School is hosting a fundraiser dance." She said 

"What fundraiser?" I asked her raising my eyebrows.

"School need funds so they are hosting a fundraiser dance" 

"If they need funds then why are they wasting the existing funds on a stupid dance" I rolled my eyes and Stacy gave me an annoyed look.

"Oh come, it's gonna be fun. Don't be a party popper now" she said walking to her class. 

I had a free period so I went to the library to complete billions of assignments I have pending. 

I was busy doing my work when someone dropped books on the table. It startled me.

"The fuck!" I said looking up when I saw Alex looking down at me smiling

"Hi!"  he said

"He speaks," I said sarcastically

"I know,  I am sorry," He said "Thanks for saving my ass yesterday. I am grateful" 

"You are welcome," I said losing the frown from my face. "Try not to pick up a fight  when you can't save your ass" I added

"Ouch!" He acted hurt as he put his hand on his chest 

I raise my eyebrow and I try not to smile but fail. 

"By the way I am Alex" He introduced himself

"I know, I am April"

"You are new here right because I haven't seen you around before" 

"Yes, I am, I recently joined, hence the pending assignments," I said pointing at the book and notebooks scattered in front of me.

"Ohh that's what it's about, I thought you were a nerd " He jokes

"Yeah as if, if there was a choice between getting slapped and doing this assignment, I would gladly get slapped, " I said

He laughed "So you are sitting alone?" He said

"Yeah " I nodded

"You mind if I join you?" He asked

"Yeah sure," I said

He took his seat opposite me.

"What made you dig your own grave anyway??" He asked me

"What do you mean?" I ask him

"I mean, what made you go against Aiden... I mean no one has ever done that " He looked at me.

"Okay come on! I am so tired of people saying this, You know...What is the big deal! " I said slamming my book "If it wasn't for these stupid kids in school who practically worship him I highly doubt he would be this entitled. I mean I understand that Aiden is very hot, I mean he gorgeous but that does not mean he would go around showing off his perfect face, acting all entitled, and punching people" I said throwing my hands up in the air. I was frustrated with all the comments. 

"Wow! I am guessing it's not the first time someone had asked you this question?" He said 

I shake my head, "Nope ...you just come after ...oh after the whole school" I said

 "Yeah we all love a good drama ....and this one would be the hot gossip for at least a week" He laughed

"Not funny" I scoffed "If I knew this would be such a big deal I would have never saved you, next time I am gonna watch it silently ...... with popcorn!" I added

He looked at me with a shocked expression on his face, he was also laughing. We sat there the entire period and laughed. In the end, the librarian almost threw us out. We had so much fun and it was a little surprising. Alex is the funniest guy I have met and as he is also a Dawson he is very handsome too, but most importantly he is a good person, it's not easy for me to feel so comfortable around a boy I just met but Alex made it comfortable as he filled all those awkward gaps with jokes and laughs.

Alex's phone pinged and he picked up his phone to see who it was. "Oh god!" He immediately said he then looked at me in shock.

"What ?"  I said he then pushed his phone towards me. I pick up to see a video.

I press play " Aiden is very hot, I mean he gorgeous" Played in a loop and the video had a stupid Photoshop-ed picture of me where my eyes were heart-shaped and they were popping out of my eye socket every time a picture of Aiden popped up on the screen.

I gave him his phone back and covered my face, I groaned. I peep a little through my fingers to see Alex was looking at me with sympathy and he was also trying to suppress his giggle.

"Go one, laugh ..... Why don't you " I said and he did, he burs-ted into a laugh. I could see people around me looking and they were also giggling.  I rolled my eyes

"For your kind information, this is the worst joke ever. I mean they can't just cut everything else and keep a single sentence!" 

"Oh honey but they did," Alex said 

"It's all because of you! if I wouldn't have saved your sorry ass I would still be invisible and not a laughing stock for school!" I lean back in my chair "I wish I was invisible again" I said then I looked up at Alex 

He got up from his seat and then picked up his back. "Where the hell are you going?" I asked him

"You are coming with me, get up now," he said and pulled me off my chair

"Wait let me take my books," I said 

Alex took my hand and started walking towards the corridors and then he turned towards stairs that I have never been to before, no one has. We then pass through a gate and then now we were standing on a staircase no one ever uses.

"Alex, why are we here?" I ask him

"You said you wanted to be invisible again, so I granted your wish," He said 

"What do you mean?" 

"No one ever uses this staircase, not since I have been here. This is my safe spot and since you got in all this trouble because of me think of this as a "thank you for saving my ass gift"." He said and smiled at me

I look around as I take a step. This place had a window so there was plenty of light and it was quiet and perfect for me to hide when I didn't want to be found.

"Thank you," I said 

"You are very welcome" He smiled
