Chapter Forty: The Tides Brought Me Back To You

Song: Unfaithful by Rihanna

Amelia~

"Where are we going, mommy?" Lelanie asked as I tied the laces of her red converse. Alex left with Jack, Rian and Zack a few days ago for a small tour in the states. He won't be home for a few days, so I thought it'd be a good time to have some 'girl time' with Lelanie.

"Somewhere very special to mommy." I answered, smiling slightly as I stood up from the floor. I grabbed Lelanie's hand as we began walking out house and towards the special place. The walk to the 'special place' didn't take long, twenty minutes at the most.

It was currently nine in the morning. I knew that Lelanie was getting tired of being stuck inside our house all day. She wanted to go on the tour with Alex, but of course, I didn't let her go. I trust Alex, Zack and Rian... it's just, I don't necessarily trust Jack with Lelanie. He's a good guy, he really is, but he's kind of careless.

Oliver~

"Where are you going?" Hannah questioned as I pulled on my black sweater. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in annoyance at her question. Ever since Alex punched me at the park a few weeks ago, Hannah has grown into a very clingy girlfriend. She always wants to know where I am, where I am going, who I am with, etc.

"Out," I sighed, running my fingers through my messy hair.

"What's wrong with you, Oli?" Hannah questioned. She stood up from the couch and walked towards me, her face only a few inches away from mine. I don't hate Hannah, I really don't. She's a sweet girl, she's kind and funny. I love Hannah, I do... but, I'm not in love with Hannah. Truthfully, I never was.

"What are you talking about, Hannah?" I sighed. I was not in the mood to argue again with Hannah. Lately, it seems as if that's all we do. Wake up, eat, argue, have sex, sleep. It's a cycle between us, and it's irritating having to repeat the cycle with her.

Hannah groaned, "Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about, Oliver!" She shouted, "You're distant, you're cold, you're rude."

"What do you want me to do?" I asked. This is what I mean, all I said was that I was going out, and Hannah found a way to start another damn conversation. Like I said before, I do not hate her, I could never hate her, but god damn it, she can be such a bother at times like this. Especially when all I want is to be alone. I just need some time to think about things.

Hannah let another sharp sigh leaver her mouth, "You know what you can do, Oliver?" She took a step closer to me. "Look me directly in my eyes... and tell me that you don't still have feelings for Amelia. That you don't still think about her. Tell me, Oliver, that you don't still love her." She ordered.

Our eyes met, I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. Hannah's eyes became glossy with tears, she grit her teeth together. "Yeah," she breathed out as she grabbed her purse from the kitchen counter and began walking towards the entrance of our apartment. "That's what I thought." Were her final words before she walked out.

I chewed on my lip, contemplating on whether or not I should go after her. It'd be no use going after Hannah, she probably hates me more than before. I could have easily lied to her, right? I could have told her that my feelings for Amelia were completely gone, I never think about her anymore, and that I don't love her anymore and we could have had make up sex afterwards... but I couldn't. I couldn't find myself to lie to Hannah.

A tired sigh left my mouth as I walked out of our apartment and began walking towards the one place I knew that no one would bother me at.

The meadow.
