Michaels POV

My combat boots kept making loud sounds as I walked down the hallways of the hospital. I hated this place.
About a year ago Calum was diagnosed with cancer and ever since that day, my life has been shattered.

-flashback-

"Mikey" Calum sobbed as I opened the door to our shared apartment. He walked up to me and hugged me..i pulled away slightly to cup his cheeks.

"Baby what's wrong? What happened?" I said and led my hands down it his waist. "I-i" he sobbed some more and i rubbed his arms for some support. "Hey darling breath" whispered.

"I have cancer mikey" he said quietly.

My heart dropped and i hugged him. "Calum" I said. I hugged him tighter scared that he'll go away any minute.

"We'll get through this okay?"

-flashback over-

I silently opened his door and walked in. He was all wired up and was watching tv. He looked so fragile. Like if anything touched him, he would break any moment. His head was shaved but he was still beautiful.

"Mikey!" He said.
It's been at least 2 days since I've been to the hospital, due to work, and 2 days seems like forever.

"Hey baby" I said and kissed his forehead. I sat down at the foot of his bed and held his cold, skinny hands in mine.

"How are you feeling love?" I said. The sight of him made me want to cry but i have to stay strong for him.

"Like shit" i chuckled and kissed his lips. "I missed you" he whispered.
"I missed you too Cal." I said. "Do you need anything? Water?" He shook his head. "Just you" he whispered. He seemed quiet today. More quiet than usual.

"You seem quiet" I blurted out after a long silence with just the Tv playing in the background. "Hm? Oh- no im-I'm fine" I didn't want to question the sick boy so I just nodded and sat back. I was laying in his bed with him and his head was on my chest. As much as I hate these beds, calum is next to me so it makes it all better.

Calum looked down and rubbed my hands with his thumb. "Mikey" he said without looking at me. "Hm?"

"They said its getting worse" a tear fell down his cheek "the cancer"
I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "What?"

I can't loose Calum. He's all I have left in this world. "Calum" i cried and hugged him. He started to shake because of how much he was crying. His head was laying on my chest and my arms were wrapped around his waist. "You can't leave me" whimpered.

We pulled away and his eyes were bloodshot red. "I dont wanna die mikey" he whispered. I grabbed his face and kissed him. "Youre not going to Cal, you have to be strong for me baby, please" I whispered and leaned my forehead on his. He nodded and intertwined our hands.

"I love you so much Calum. I can't lose you- I won't loose you" he started to cry again and I could tell it was hard for him to breath. "Cal, baby breath for me okay? Can you do that darling?" He started to slowly breath in and out. Our foreheads were still pressed together and our hands were intertwined still. "I only have a few more months babe" he whimpered.

I held his hand tighter and sighed. "Mikey" Calum said and lifted his head up from mine "When I- if I go, i need you to move on. Find you a guy, or a girl or whatever, and move on. Please,for me?" In was full on sobbing now.

"Cal-Calum no stop, you're not leaving me" I said and buried my head in his neck. He was playing with my hair and kissing my head. "You-You can't leave me baby please" i sobbed.

I felt him shake which signified that he was crying.

After a while of us exchanging kisses and support, i was laying in the bed with Calums head buried in my neck. My arms were wrapped around his waist and our legs were tangled in the sheets. I heard light snores coming from the younger boys mouth. I checked my phone and saw that it was 4 in the morning.

I looked over at Calum and started to look at his stomach. Was he breathing? I looked closely to see that his stomach wasn't moving . I quickly shot up and shook the boy.

"Calum" I said and shook him. "Calum!"

"Baby please Calum!" I yelled. Soon enough his eyes fluttered open and he shot up. "Mikey what's wrong?" He said and yawned.

"Jesus" I whispered and laid my head back. "Fuck"

Calum rasied an eyebrow and cupped my cheeks. "What's wrong love? What happened?"

I was laying on my back and Calum was sat up. I laid my hands on his waist. "I- I thought you weren't breathing so i-" i cut myself off and started to cry "I'm sorry"

He had a tear roll down his cheek and he laid down to his previous position."I love you Michael."

"I love you too baby"

The next morning when I woke up, calum was laying next to me smiling.

"Mikey" he poked my cheek.

"Hey"

"Hey"

"Mikey"

He laughed when I opened my right eye. I loved seeing this Calum. The happy carefree Calum. "What's up babe?"I said "why are you all smiley?"

"They said the cancers gone" he smiled.

"W-what?" I laughed and he got closer to me. "It's gone Mikey, I'm gettin' better" I hugged him. "Calum" he giggled and hugged me tighter. "Oh my God I'm so happy"

"They said that I'm able to come home in a couple of days" I smiled wider.

A tear slipped from my eye. A happy tear.

Today Calum was coming home.

We got into my car and started to drive. He was moving around in his seat A lot and he wouldn't quit smiling. "Youre so happy" I said and placed my hand on his thigh.

"I love you" he said. "I love you too"

We reached the apartment and got in. Calum looked around. "I need to go to one place tbough" he said. I raised an eyebrow. He went into our room and slammed himself on the bed. "Finally not a rock hard mattress I have to sleep on!"

I got on the bed with him and held him in my arms. "I'm so happy you're back princess."

He giggled and pressed his lips on mine. "Me too love"
