Chapter 31 - The Lost Locket

Thunder's POV

I followed her to the backstage where she left her heels and took out her gun. I know she observed something and I saw it too. As the Director went out from his room, Raven managed to get inside to find nothing except for the mysterious blank sheet of paper with the symbol and the name The Black Synod.

As far as I can remember, The Black Synod is already a long gone mafia group which is one of the most powerful Empires in the underground society. This group is composed of influential businessmen, judges, lawyers, economists, government officials and even the former presidents of the country. This group of men was always considered to be on top though rumors has it that they have this dark secret that only the main heads of the council knew about it. That dark secret led them to be always on top, but that secret also led them to their downfall. It wasn't mentioned in the book and anyone known to have mentioned about it was silently killed for that, or at least that's what I have read.

I haven't thought of that group to be still alive not until we've found that piece of paper. If the Director was the one who marked the paper with that symbol then it must be that he is a part of that mafia group. If that's the case, then he must have known the person who killed the student and the one who sent the handkerchief. But I don't seem to get the point why that person would send us such warning, or maybe someone must have paid him.

We are all gathered in our dorm including the girls and because it's already past the curfew, we've decided to let them stay for the night. The guestroom is large enough to fit them in. We were all seated in the living room when Raven showed a picture of the symbol on her phone, the same symbol embroidered on the handkerchief.

"Meron pa." sabi ni Ark at inilabas niya ang isa pang litrato nang simbolo na sa pagkakaalam ko ay nakatatak sa palasong ginamit sa pagpatay nang biktima.

"We bumped into one of the Student Crime Officer who was handling the case and fortunately we were able to gather some useful information." Alexis added while giving Ark a high five. Tss. para na silang magkabarkada ngayon eh kamakailan lang halos magpatayan na sila para lang sa isang jacket.

"He told us that they found this weird symbol on the tip of the arrow and so he gave us the picture. They also hypothesized that if the victim's tongue had been cut out then someone was preventing him to spread a confidential info." sabi ni Ark.

"Though it's unlikely for them to let the victim escape first before killing him. Why didn't they killed him instantly instead of letting him run around the field and be killed in front of a crowd?" follow up question ni Alexis.

"Now that is a hanging question." sabat naman ni Cody.

"I think it's enough for tonight. Let's all go to sleep now." sabi ko at nagsi-akyatan naman na sila sa kanya-kanyang mga kwarto.

"Uhh...Raven" tawag ko sa uwak na yon habang umiinom siya nang tubig.

"What?" tipid niyang sagot. Inabot ko naman sa kanya ang isang pulang box at hindi na hinintay pa ang sasabihin niya. Agad na akong umakyat pa kwarto, I know she'll be thankful for it.

[Raven's POV]

He handed me a red box with a small peach ribbon. Magtatanong pa sana ako kung ano iyon pero mabilis pa sa kidlat na nawala siya sa harap ko. Well what do you expect? After all he's Thunder. Binuksan ko na lang iyon nang makarating ako sa kwarto at laking gulat ko nang makita ang laman nito.

My Locket

The one my mother gave me during my birthday and the one I lost when they did the 'lap of the gods'. So all this time he was the one keeping it. I didn't know that monsters can be kind-hearted too. So much for that mask he has been wearing, he's really good in hiding emotions.

"Ahem, ano yan?" tanong ni Alexis habang tinuturo ang pulang box at nakatitig sa akin. Di ko namalayang napakalapit na pala nang mukha niya sa akin.

"Ilang sachet ba nahithit mo Rave at bakit nakangisi ka diyan nang mag-isa?" tanong ni Brenda na ngayon ay nakataas ang kilay. Hindi ko na namalayan ang pinaggagawa nang mukha ko.

"Is that from Theo? tanong ni Tiara na papalapit na rin sa akin.

"I saw the two of you talking in the kitchen a while ago." sabat pa ni Isabelle. Mukhang wala na talaga akong kawala sa kanila dahil pati ba naman posisyon ko cornered na rin nila.

"Ok, ok chill. He just gave me this box because---" hindi na natapos ang sasabihin ko nang biglang hinablot ni Zariya ang box.

"Hoy! bruha ibalik mo nga yan!" sigaw ko sa kanya.

"Hahahaha ang sweet naman ni Theo may pa ganyan-ganyan pa di na lang talaga diretsuhin eh fake fiance ka naman niya eh."

"Sshh! tumahimik ka nga diyan Ara!" saway ko sa kanya. Oo nga pala alam na nila. Kahit hindi ko naman sabihin malalaman at malalaman parin naman nila eh. What's the point in hiding?

"Sweet? huh, wait til you read this!" pataas ni Zariya sa papel na mula sa box at ibinigay niya iyon sa akin.

Sa susunod kasi wag kang tatanga-tanga

Tapos sa ibaba may drawing nang kidlat. Ah ganyan pala ah akala ko naman bumuti na yang ugaling aso mo, hindi pa pala.

"hahahaha!" tawanan nilang lima.

Aish. Thunder Valdemore humanda ka talaga sa akin.
