“Are you guys even dating ?” – Louise’s question made me drop everything I had in my hands.

“No, I- I don’t know actually.” – I picked up everything and unlocked the door to my house.

We had just arrived from college. Harry had insisted on driving me home as I got a ride from him this morning. Louise had followed us here.

He said goodbye with a kiss which made me blush and stumble on my own feet when I got out of the car.

Of course he warned me about Louise, but I didn’t listen. As far as I’m concerned, she’s harmless.

“You guys seem like a couple to me.” – She shrugged.

“Well, we haven’t discussed it yet. So no, we are not a couple.” – I said a bit rudely.

We put our stuff in my bedroom and went back downstairs to the kitchen.

“Oh, I didn’t know you were home already, hey mum!” – I greeted her who was making some sandwiches. I kissed her cheek.

“Hello sweetie. Mr. Morgan let me leave a bit earlier today.” – She smiled at me.

“Hello Mrs. Brown.” – Louise hugged my mum.

“Hello Louise, it’s so nice to see you again! How are your parents ?”

“They’re good, they wanted a night for themselves.” – She rolled her eyes. – “Thank you for letting me stay.”

“It’s no big deal, really. I am glad my daughter is making friends. It was about time!”

“Mum, shut it.” – I grabbed an apple from one of the grocery bags on the counter and took a bite out of it.

“Why didn’t you drive to school today ?” – My mum asked handing a sandwich to Louise.

“Harry wanted to give me a ride and I couldn’t say no.” – I shrugged.

“Ohh did he bring you home?” – I nodded. – “Why didn’t he come in to give me a kiss?” – I looked over to Louise to see if my mum got the cue.

She did. – “Anyways, I talked to Anne earlier and she said you’re doing much better. But she still wants to have a few more sessions before making a diagnosis on if you’re really happy or if it’s just a disguise.”

“I am happy mum.”

“Mrs. Brown, believe me, she is happy. Whenever she’s around Harry it’s like nothing else exists in this world. Those two can’t get enough of each other.” – Louise giggled.

I threw my apple at her head. – “Hey! Just saying.” – She shrugged.

“Oh, so you and Harry are dating? Why didn’t you tell me ?”

“For the last time, we are NOT dating! We’re just friends.” – I threw my hands in the air.

“Fine, but everyone else can see how much you like each other.” – Louise raised her hands as if she surrendered.

My mum giggled and I rolled my eyes.

The rest of the day was cool. Louise tried to avoid asking any questions related to my past or even Harry. I could feel the tension between them and I knew there was history there, but I was only going to ask Harry when I felt comfortable enough to do so.
