A baby is a little bit of Heaven....
************************************************************************************
“Baby blue would look so cute, Drea.”
“No! What if our next child is a girl? Huh? I can’t stand the smell of paint while I’m pregnant! I refuse to re-paint the bedroom!”
“Are they are it again?” – Heather rested her chin on my shoulder.
“Yeah. Harry wants to paint the bedroom walls a baby blue color but Drea wants something neutral.”
“Well, I agree with her. It should be a color suitable for both genders.”
“I still can’t believe they let the room for last. She’s so big it feels like the baby is going to come out at any second.”
“Why can’t we paint it a pale orange kind of color?” – I suggested.
Their heads both snapped at me. I stepped back, afraid they might hurt me.
“Louis is right.” – Heather backed me up. – “You’ve let this for last when you should have decided it in the first place. Think about this for a second, if you didn’t know the baby’s gender what color would you choose?”
“Either an egg yellow or a pale orange.” – Harry’s eyes drifted to the floor.
“See? Then why can’t you come to an agreement?”
“Because Harry,” – Drea rolled her eyes at the mention of his name. – “, wants to turn this room into a only boys allowed kind of room. He can’t even give it the chance to change the walls into something more appealing, for both genders.”
“We could re-paint the room! I just thought blue would be pretty because we’re having a boy…”
“But orange or yellow are perfectly fine for a boy. And a girl. What if we had a girl instead of a boy, Harry?!” – Drea put her hands in her hips.
“We would paint it pink.”
Drea pinched the bridge of her nose. – “Harry…”
“It’s not even a big deal, it’s just a color! Stop arguing!” – I shouted.
“She’s stubborn.” – Harry scolded.
“And you’re a dickhead! You can’t even fucking realize that I am right! if we didn’t know the gender or even if we had thought of the room first things first, we wouldn’t be having this argument! It’s driving me nuts and I can’t- Argh!” – She put her hands on her belly.
“Drea, baby what’s wrong?” – Harry hurried to help her.
“I don’t know I think he’s- AAAAAAAAAAH!” – She cried again. – “M-My water just broke.”
“WHAT?!” – Heather and I both yelled.
“You just peed yourself with the nerves, try to calm down.” – Harry rubbed her belly.
“No! Harry, it’s happening.” – She groaned again.
Her legs were wet and so was the floor.
Heather left my side to grab a few towels and wipe off the water from Drea’s legs. Drea wasn’t moving.
“It’s too soon. You still have a couple of weeks.” – Harry mumbled, eyes widened.
