HARRY’S POV

Later that night I got home to a very stressed Anne.

“Harry why do you keep skipping classes? You’re almost failing this year! You need to step it up mister, you have only one more semester left and it’s the hardest. Plus, you still have exams. You need to concentrate!”

“Mum, mum I know. Calm down ok? I didn’t go to college today cause I had to check up on Drea. Her grandmother died did you know that?” - I took a glass from the cabinet and filled it with water.

“Yes, Fatima told me this morning. But you can’t keep skipping! I talked to your teachers and they handed you essays to do next week so you can pay for missing classes. You better hurry! It’s a lot!”

I rolled my eyes. – “You’re a pain in the ass but you’re a great mum. Thank you.” – I kissed her cheek.

She slapped my bum. – “I may be a pain in the ass but it’s for your own good, now shooooo! Go do your essays!”

“I have to eat something and pack first.”

“Pack?!”

“Yes. I am going to London with Drea tomorrow. You know for her grandma’s funeral.”

“Oh no you’re not. Harry, her family is awful. They’re gonna treat you like complete trash. Believe me, I know what I’m talking about.”

“Mum come on they can’t be that bad.”

“But they are.”

“Well, I don’t care. I want to be there for Drea so I am going whether you like it or not.”

“History is repeating itself. Four years ago the same thing happened. Remember?”

“Mum it’s not the same thing.”

“Yes it is! Emily had to go to Ireland for a week because her father had a job accident and you insisted on me taking you to be with her. And now you want to do the same thing.”

“Mum…” – I sighed. – “I just want to comfort her ok? I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. She’s lost a lot so far she doesn’t deserve to lose anyone else. I just want to be there to at least make her feel safe.”

“She is safe, dear. She’ll be with her family.”

“Mum, you clearly don’t get it do you?” – I made my way upstairs. – “I am going end of discussion.”

I got to my room and immediately started packing. I grabbed the bag I usually put my football stuff in and emptied it. I went to my dresser and pulled a bunch of clothes out of the drawers stuffing them in the bag.

Once I was done, I went downstairs to eat something and came back to my room to start on my essays.

This is gonna be a long night.

 *

I parked in Drea’s driveway at 8 in the morning.

I texted her and a few minutes later she was out of the door, running towards the car cause it was raining.

“Good morning.” – I smiled once she closed the door.
