“What is it, Sammy?” Dean asked when he heard the front door shut and lock.
Sam stared at his father’s journal in his hands. “Dad met a seer a couple years back. A young woman. Says she helped him on a mission. But she turned on him. He killed her. Then he did some research. It says that seers are the eyes of Lucifer.” Sam looked up at Dean. “We can’t-“
“No.” Dean spoke with no emotion. “No, she isn’t evil. I just talked to her. She wants to help people. There is no way she is evil.”
“Dean, dad did the research-“
“Dad was wrong.” Dean was adamant on her being innocent. He had seen her eyes light up when he agreed to help her. He knew that the tone of her voice was desperate to help. He couldn’t believe that she was evil. “That seer might have been possessed or a demon of some sort. But Emily is not.”
Sam paused. He was at a loss of words. “Dean, we have to be careful. But I am going to do some research myself. You keep an eye on her, okay? I will call you when I find out all I can.”
“Thanks, Sammy. I just have this feeling about her.” Dean looked down at his hands. “I cant believe she is evil.”
Sam smiled. It was a change for him to see his brother defend someone and not just think the worst of them. Maybe he was rubbing off on his older brother after all. “No problem. I don’t want to kill her either. She is the only person who let us stay at their home. I feel in her debt.” Sam picked up his laptop bag and closed the journal. “I will be at the library. Don’t go to the woods without me.”
Dean nodded and looked into Sam’s eyes. “Wouldn’t think of it.”
I didn’t go to the store. I walked down my lawn and stood on the sidewalk. the sun was hidden behind clouds and I felt off. Something just wasn’t right. I felt a shudder run down my spine. I turned and looked back at my house. I could see the faint figures of the Winchesters through the window. I felt something painful hit my stomach. I grasped my side and leaned over a little. Suddenly like a lightning bolt a strike of pain went through my head. I let out a groan and fell forward onto the concrete. I felt blood trail down the side of my face but I was paralyzed.
“Dean…” I whispered as I closed my eyes and tried to hold onto consciousness. “Help.” I felt myself slip.
“Emily?” I heard a voice yell from a distance. It sounded like my neighbor. I couldn’t tell. “Holy crap!” Then I knew it was her.
“Dean. Inside.” I whispered and felt a knock in the spine. I screamed and curled into a ball. I didn’t know what was happening but my entire body ached and hurt. I tried to keep my breathing steady. “Get Dean…” I choked out feeling my chest collapse.
“Okay. Hang on there.” I heard her say panically. Then I heard her steps as she ran to my door. I heard her pounding on the door and then I heard it open. I had to remember to yell at Dean for opening to door to someone who wasn’t me. but I was too relieved right now to care.
I coughed and tasted blood on my tongue. I tried to open my eyes but they wouldn’t. it was like they were on lock down. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder. At the touch my shoulder didn’t hurt anymore. It was like a soothing cloth.
“Emily?” It was Dean.
“Dean.” I swallowed hard. “It hurts.” I felt another shook of pain in my head. “Help.” I felt a tear run down my face. But I wasn’t sure that it wasn’t blood.
