Dean sat on the hotel bed and watched Sam sit down with his laptop. He looked at the spot where Emily had been before her and Cas disappeared. He was learning quickly that realtionships were hard, especially if one is an ex-angel and you both have a part in the apacolypse.

“The girl is at Greendover Mental Ward. She is committed and can only leave when the doctors release her. Says here in the newspaper article from the same day that he laughed as the police drove her away until they got her out of the neighborhood and then she started sobbing.” Sam read from the paper and tried to formulate a plan of action.

Dean turned back to Sam and nodded. He cleared his throat. “What if we take the hospital and Emily and Cas question the family? Then we can make twice the ground.”

Sam looked up at Dean over the screen with raised eyebrows. “Let those two go on their own, their first job?”

Dean shrugged. “I guess that was a bad plan. I will take Cas to the hospital, you and Emily go meet the family. I just don’t want Emily at the hospital, not with all her mind reading. I think it will be a little odd and maybe overloading.”

Sam nodded and was surprised that Dean didn’t want to go with Emily. But Sam thought that Dean still didn’t know that he knew about their relationship. Sam chuckled to himself and went back to searching other articles. Like they were keeping it a secret anyway. Anyone with half a brain could see Dean and Emily were head over heels or each other.

I let out my breath as I stood outside the hotel. I leaned against the impala and crossed my arms over my chest. I was waiting for Sam so that we could go to the extended family of the little girl who went psycho. Dean wasn’t even in the room when me and Cas came back. Sam told Cas to meet him at the hospital and gave him the paper. Then Sam said he needed a minute to change and get his notes together.

So here I was waiting for Sam. I turned and looked at the impala. How did Dean get to the hospital without his car? I heard a door and I looked up to see Sam coming down to meet me. He was wearing a suit. I looked down at my clothes and sighed deeply. Sam came toward me and gave me a smile.

            “Ready?” He asked.

I looked over his suit again. “Am I a little underdressed?”

Sam shook his head and held out a pair of dark shades to me. “You are my bind partner.”

“What?” I asked and stared at the sunglasses.

“Well, if you are going to get a vision then your eyes are going to go gold. They do every single time. And I don’t think that this hysterical family needs to deal with golden eyes on top of the loss of their family.” Sam gave me a pleasant wink. “How about it, sis?”

I stared at him a moment. It was the first time he called me anything other than Emily. I felt my throat close. I stared up at this man and felt so much love. I jumped up and gave him the biggest hug I could muster as I kept myself together. He chuckled and hugged me back. I seemed to disappear into his arms.

“I love you like the brother I never had.” I whispered in his ear. I pulled back and grabbed the sunglasses from his hand. “Let’s do this thing.”

He looked at me seriously all of the sudden. “If things get to intense, you see too much or anything like that, you tell me and we will leave immediately. Do not not speak up because you don’t want to let us down. The most important thing is your safety.”
