Cas walked around the store for about five minutes before he heard Emily calling out his name. He walked back to the dressing rooms and knocked on her door. She let out a soft invitation in. he opened the door and wasn’t quite prepared for what he saw. Emily was standing on the small stage in front of the mirrors in a white ball down. It was plain white, with beads shooting up the back and ending with no sleeves. The dress was tight around her waist and then shot out over her legs and laid smoothly on the ground. She half turned and looked at him with a smile he had never seen.

“How do I look?” She asked almost breathless.

He just stared at her again and looked it over. She looked completely gorgeous in that moment. The dress symbolized the future to her and she wore it with so much compassion that Cas wondered if Dean would be able to wait until the end of the ceremony to kiss her.

“Amazing doesn’t seem to do it justice.” He walked the rest of the way into the room and shut the door behind him. He leaned back against it afraid of getting too close and disrupting her bubble.

She shrugged and turned back to the mirror. He watched her twirl a little and try some poses. “I don’t know. I don’t really like it that much. I don’t like the beads, I don’t want anything too flashy.” She paused and stopped what she was doing. Her face seemed to pale and a ghostly smile appeared on her lips. “I am getting married.”

Cas watched her carefully. There was something off about how she said that. “Happiest day of your life?”

Her smile grew and she nodded. She looked down at the dress and lifted the fabric up to let it just fall back down. “Happiest everything of my life, Cas. But even through all we have done, nothing has felt like plans. But this is, this is my plan for the future. I am going to be bonded to Dean forever. It is just a lot to swallow.”

“I think that even before you planned on marriage you two were destined to be bonded. I think you knew all along you would end up here.” Cas walked forward, leaving the safe distance, and reached out to touch the dress. It didn’t feel as magical as he had thought. It was just a dress suddenly. “I don’t like it. I think you should try another.”

She nodded and used the back of her hand to wipe some tears from her eyes. She turned suddenly and embraced Cas in a hug. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him for a couple seconds. She finally pulled back, held the sides of the dress up, and walked back behind the wall to change.

“Where are Sam and Dean?” She asked over the wall.

“I think shopping for tuxes. They told me that they would get me one.” He sat down in one of the waiting chairs and stuffed his hands in his pockets. They didn’t have any women friends who could go with Emily dress shopping. And since Cas was the only one on Emily’s side of the wedding, he volunteered. He didn’t want her to go alone, he was trying to get Sam and Dean to fill him in on weddings and he realized that it is truly the bride’s day. He wanted it to be as close to perfect for Emily as he could get it. She deserved it, they all did.

“You should’ve gone with them. Done some guy things. I am the bride and I think this is boring.” She made a few grunts and then the dress flew over the wall and landed on the table in front of it.

Cas grinned. “No you don’t. you like it, admit it.”

Her face popped out from the side of the wall and she winked at him with a childish grin. “Maybe a little.”
