I woke up with a start and let the events of yesterday just wave over me. then I realized there were two strange men in my living room. I sat up and quickly rolled out of bed. I stood and walked down stairs without thinking about my bedhead or the fact that I didn’t change last night. I tiptoed, wondering if they were awake. I didn’t know what time it was but sunlight shown in from the windows. I was off today so I didn’t have to worry about being late to work.

I peaked my head around the doorway into the living room and saw them both still sleeping on the pull out couch. I walked in softly and made sure not to make a sound. I walked up right beside the bed. I was on Sam’s side. They were sleeping on their sides back to back. I looked at Sam. He had a look of worry on his face, even in deep sleep. His breathing was heavy and I wondered suddenly if he was having a nightmare. I looked over and saw the back of Dean’s head. Curiously, I walked around the foot of the bed and stared at Dean.

He was completely opposite of Sam. His face was calm and serene. His hand was large and it covered some of his bottom cheek. He breathed deeply. His chest puffed out under the cover and I saw he was wearing a tight white under shirt. I blushed and looked back toward his face. I don’t know why I trusted him so much. Sam was an okay guy too, as far as I could tell. But it was Dean that I wanted to protect me. It was Dean that I felt compelled to save. Which was odd to me since I just met him.

I turned from them and walked softly to the kitchen. I filled the coffee pot with warm water and poured it into my coffee maker. I set the pot into the machine and pressed the button. I gather coffee grounds from my container and poured them into the opening. I always looked forward to some coffee in the morning. It was the thing that got me through most days. I sat back and turned to the window. It was overcast out. Probably would rain before noon. I looked over at the clock on my stove to see it was eight in the morning. I yawned. I hated being up this early if I was off.

But I was anxious with Sam and Dean here. I thought over the thing in the woods. The voice was what gave it up for me. It was too mimicked to me. Maybe if I heard it again, even with someone else’s voice, I would find it. Then we could kill it. Maybe I could find it without them. They wouldn’t let me help if we did find it. They would push me away. But my hatred for this thing was too great. I wanted it dead by my hands. I wanted to make sure it was gone. I had to see it die.

I sighed and turned to the fridge. I had a mirror on it and I looked at my hair. I groaned and ran my fingers through it. It was the worst thing I could possibly do right now. I needed to brush it and put it up. I needed to get changed and start the day. I was on a demon hunt. A giggle escaped my lips. I stopped it but kept a small grin. I was going crazy. They are going to lock me up. Maybe this is some reality show or something and I am the idiot who believes everything.

I quickly ran upstairs on the tips of my feet. I quickly changed into my old beat up Ramones shirt and a pair of jeans with a little hole in the knee. I put on my convers all star high tops and walked back downstairs with a hairtie on my wrist. I put my hair up in a messy bun as I walked quietly down the creaking stairs. I hear some whispers and I tense. I wonder if they had been up when I walked down at first. But then I hear that the whispers are from outside my front door.

I walk quickly over and open the door with curiousity and a bit of fear. Mrs. Close, my next door neighbor and a few locals are standing on my porch. She looks me over with concern and I see the wrinkles of her face grow deeper. She gossips more than a teenager in high school. Her straight white hair is falling out but what is left is pulled back into a tight small bun on top of her head.
