“Emily?” Dean was sitting up in the hotel bed beside me. I heard him yawn and I felt the weight shift like he was stretching.

“What time is it?” I groaned and rolled over to ball myself up under the covers.

“Seven A.M. and Sam will come over soon to discuss the job.” He leaned over me and pulled the covers off of my face.

He grinned widely and kissed the tip of my nose. “You are such a pretty ball of sunshine in the morning.”

I groaned. “Shouldn’t you be hungover?”

He chuckled. “I bounce back pretty well. Must say that I wasn’t expecting to get slapped.”

I felt my face redden. “I said I was-“

He kissed my mouth softly before pulling back and pulling me up to a sitting position. I watched his smile widen and then he kissed me again when he situated me so I was on his lap. When he pulled back this time he held me close and looked into my eyes. “I was an idiot. Maybe I needed a slap. It wasn’t like you beat me with a bat.”

“Don’t minimize what I did. I feel awful. I didn’t even know I had that in me.” I looked down at my hands that were pressed against his chest. His shirt was wrinkled. I looked back into his eyes. I stood and started for the bathroom.

I turned before shutting the bathroom door and winked. I quickly changed into some clothes I had with me and put on a pair of new black high top chucks in case I had to do some running or fighting. I made sure to zip up my plain black hoodie for the cold outside. I blinked and I was in a coffee shop down the street. I ordered four tall coffees and paid for them with a polite smile. Then I walked to their bathroom and I blinked only to be back in the hotel bathroom. I walked out to find Dean just stepping into his pants. He turned and grinned at the warm smell of coffee.

“You just love that little power of yours.” He came forward, naked from the chest up, and grabbed a cup. “Really comes in handy.”

I nodded and set the coffee tray on the table before turning and watching his arms and chest flex as he took  a sip of his coffee. I leaned back against the table and just enjoyed the view. “When I dreamed about a boyfriend, as a young girl, I never quite thought I would have the world’s sexiest man.”

He gave me  a sweet smile before sticking his tongue out to the side and crosses his eyes. I laughed out loud. There was a knock at the door. I walked over as Dean quickly pulled a shirt over himself. I opened the door and Cas barged in followed by a smiling Sam.

Sam gave me a good morning smile before walking past me. I shut the door just before he spoke. “The little girl is being held at the mental ward about ten minutes from here. I thought we could check that out.” Sam spoke directly to Dean.

Dean nodded and looked over at me. “I think we should bring Emily.”

Cas look at Dean questionably. “She is new at this. I don’t think it safe to just throw her in.”

“I can take it.” I whispered and looked over toward Sam. “If I wont be a bother.”

He shook his head slowly. “No. We might need some of your powers. Just stay behind us when the fighting happens.”

I knew that it wouldn’t matter because of the mark. Actually I didn’t know what I was going to do when they got hurt and I was there. “No problem.” I whispered and looked over at Dean. He was taking another chug of his coffee. I grabbed the tray from the table and held it to Cas and Sam. “Coffee?”

Sam raised an eyebrow. “When did you go get coffee?”

I just stared at him. “About five minutes ago. Just bopped on down-“

“Did anyone see you?” Cas asked suddenly.

I turned and shrugged. “I didn’t hear any screams.”

He just stared at me. “We aren’t a gloating kind. We keep in secret-“

“I think I went to great lengths to not be our kind, and yet even falling to Earth I have kept my powers. I think that I can gloat if I want to.” I set the coffees on the table and set my hands on my hips. “And you know what? Our kind sucks. They fucking suck. What kind of an angel lets angels die? What angel goes against God and humanity?” I felt my voice rise as I closed my eyes. “WHAT KIND OF ANGEL WOULD-“ I stopped as I heard my voice shake. I opened my eyes and saw I wasn’t in the hotel room. I was standing in a field. It was light out but it had to be morning.

I turned and saw Lucifer standing a few feet from me. He gave me a quick side smile. “Finish your sentence, darling.”

“An angel would defy God and kill humanity for it’s own pleasure.” I growled as I stared at him. “Lucifer, the worst angel that ever was.”

“Oh honey, you haven’t seen yourself lately, or yet I should say.” He chuckled. “Your powers are growing.”

“Don’t think I wont kill myself again.” I glared him down.

He snickered. “You know, much to my dismay you just like that rotten Winchester. Always putting your life and soul on the line. You wont do it, anyway. You love that little idiot and you aren’t going to leave him again.”

“Then why would I leave him for you?” I crossed my arms. I know that it sounds hypocritical that I am here talking to Lucifer when I slapped Dean for doing the same thing. But I knew Lucifer. He was made after me, and how far God had goen when he made Lucifer. The first selfish angel.

He shrugged. “Maybe someday soon you will see that I was created in your image and we are more alike than you know.” He winked at me.

“Screw you.” I glared him down.

“Just like Dean.” He snickered. But I saw how scared he was that I was really not going to go to his side.

“I am. And if you hurt him, or harm him in anyway, it will be the end of you.” I spoke softly but with a firm undertone.

“Why don’t you kill me now and get it over with?” He held out his arms. “Take your best shot.”

I was about to run at him when I blinked and I was running at Dean in the hotel room. He looked at me with a puzzled look before I tackled him to the ground. I pulled up from on top of him awkwardly and sat back on the carpet. He sat up too and just stared at me.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” He asked a little shocked.

I stared down at the ground. “Was I here?” I asked almost completely under my breath. “Did I leave?”

“No you zoned out and mumbled some things under your breath.” Sam stood beside me and grabbed my arm to help me up.

I let him stand me up. I turned and stared at Cas. He knew, I don’t know how but I knew. He looked at me and he came forward. He pushed past Sam and he swallowed me in a thick hug. I wondered how he knew but I didn’t care. I wrapped my arms around him and I just held to him.

“What happened?” I heard Dean ask from behind me.

I couldn’t speak but Cas stood up for me. “Just an angel thing. Some bad memories.” His lying wasn’t good but they didn’t seem to notice. “You two get on with the research. I will take care of her. There is some angel things I need to show her. We wont be long. I will bring her back here and then you guys can continue or do whatever. Just give us a few minutes.”

I felt Dean’s hand on my shoulder. “Okay.”
