Dean stood there in the living room of Bobby’s friend’s house and stared blankly at the empty spot where Emily had once stood. He couldn’t seem to move anything. He had just lost the one man he idolized in the world, and the love of his life just vanished in the same night. He set his hands on his hips and reminded himself to breath or he would be ugly sobbing. He felt the tears stream and the sides of his face started to ache. But did any of it matter? Did the pain he feel amount to what just happened? Bobby, was gone. He knew it even before Emily spoke those words. He knew the minute that demon hit Bobby and they heard that crack from his body. He knew he was dead. But he couldn’t know it. He couldn’t come to that grip until he saw the red in her eyes.

Emily had surprised him there, and her eyes had been blood red. As she stared down at Bobby Dean saw the rage and remorse pass over her. Now Dean looked down at Bobby and felt the same feelings. He wanted to personally walk to hell and rip every demon limp from limp until they were all just bloody stumps of flesh. He wanted to feel their own bones crunch in his hands. Dean didn’t kneel by Bobby this time, he sat down indian style alongside his friend. He wiped some of the tears.

He realized that Bobby wouldn’t want him to be that stupid. If anything in the world, Bobby would want them to think smart and safe. They needed to get back to the bunker. But before that, Dean felt the overwhelming sadness at this thought return, they needed to bury him. Bury the man who raised them. Dean felt the rush of tears and this time let it out. He buried his face in his hands and he cried over Bobby. He felt a hand on his shoulder, but it didn’t seem to comfort him. He wanted another moment back with Bobby Singer.

Emily stood on the edge of the porch of Bobby’s house. She knew that it would be a day or two until the boys got here. So she decided to rummage through some things and see if Bobby had anything that could start her off on a plan to take on the angels by herself. She walked in and kept her eyes from the mirror. She knew that her eyes were red, and her veins were starting to pop out again, just like that had in her vision. She tried to meditate but it was there for good. She walked up the steps and stopped when she noticed a door with padlocks running along it. She walked over and tried the knob. All of them were locked, and each one needed a different key. Whatever was in there, Bobby went to great heights to keep it safe. She realized that this could be the jackpot. She gripped the handle and was about to push hard when she heard a man clear his throat behind her.

She turned to see Bobby standing with his eyes squinted at her and his hands on his hips. “What do you think you are doing?” His voice was fragile.

Her eyes widened and her hand dropped from the door. “Bobby-you’re dead.” She had heard of ghosts, but she never saw one and she had no idea that this could be it.

“No shit Sherlock.” Was all Bobby said with a shake of his head. He removed his hat and ran his hand over his head. He replaced the hat and looked her over. “I get thrown across a room by a demon, feel this immense pain, and I wake up here.” He looked around. “First thought was that I was in heaven. Then you showed up.”

“Thanks.” She whispered. “But why here? Why wouldn’t you appear where you were killed? Isnt that how it works?”

He shrugged. “Usually. But why can you see me, but the mail man couldn’t? I sceamed at him, waved my arms, I even tried to tap his shoulder but my hand went straight through.” Then he looked at the door that she had been trying to get in to. “Wait, what are you doing here? Where are the boys?”

“They are-“ Her voice caught and he watched her carefully. He watched her red eyes and saw that she wasn’t the girl he first met. She was changing and he felt it. She shifted her weight and looked into his eyes, he felt her stare. “They are back at the house with your body. I-I left them there. I just needed to see if you had anything that would be useful.”
