“Just now your eyes turned completely gold.” Dean looked over at Sam with a knowing look. “Must happen when she taps into her powers.”

Sam nodded and then looked over me carefully. “What did you see?”

“Four men with black eyes coming at us in an open field. We were unarmed and you two looked pretty shaken up.” I let out a deep breath and looked at the menu again. My stomach growled. “Whatever is there, it really made you two uneasy.”

“Four demons isn’t the worst thing we have faced.” Sam noted.

“Unarmed and with Emily it is pretty bad. We are going to have to make sure we don’t let her vision come true.” Dean cleared his throat and picked his menu back up.

Kimberly dropped off the three mugs of steaming coffee with a pleasant smile before pulling out her pad and pen. “What will you folks be having?”

Dean and Sam looked at me to go first. I looked at Kimberly as I folded the menu and started to hand it to her. “I just want scrambled eggs with sausage links. No syrup or seasoning.” AS she took the menu from my hand and my finger touched hers I grew cold inside. I watched as she gave me a smile and wrote my order down.

I sat back, unsettled by the cold feeling I had gotten. I looked down at my hands in my lap and listened to what was going on around me,

“I will have plain pancakes and sausage links.” Dean spoke politely but almost distant.

“Just the breakfast sandwich for me. But I don’t want the green peppers.” Sam added and I heard him cough as he handed his menu to her.

“Okay then. Coming right up.” She was pleasant enough but it didn’t shake the coldness from me.

I heard her walk away and I looked up. I watched her back as she walked carelessly down the row of booths and then into the kitchen to the right. I sighed and looked at Dean. He was picking at the sleeve of his jacket. I looked over at Sam to see him messing with his cellphone.

I looked over at the table beside us and saw a man sitting at the table. He had short brown hair and an innocent face. He was wearing a white button down with a messy blue tie and a light tan trench coat over top. He watched my face and seemed to study it. I felt uncomfortable but I wasn’t afraid of him. Then I saw the shadow of giant wings spreading out across the diner. I watched as people walking just walked where the wing was. The other was protruding through the wall but visible through the giant windows on the walls.

He looked into my eyes and I saw that he knew I saw him. But his eyes never left mine. There was something between us and I was puzzled at what it was. But I felt safe with this man. I watched him as Sam started to make conversation. My eyes never left his.

“So, anyone see any good baseball games-“ Sam started.

“Big black wings.” I said without even thinking.

            “What?” Dean asked sharply.

The man sitting beside us just stared at me and I saw a smile start to form. It was like I passed his test. I could see what he was. All at once he was gone. I blinked my eyes hard and searched the diner but he was gone. I looked down at the table and sighed.

“Nothing. Just zoned out. Still a little car lagged.” I muttered and looked over at Sam. “Last baseball game I saw the Red Sox beat the snot out of the Yankees.” I grabbed hold of the hot mug and took a sip of my coffee. It burnt my tongue but it felt amazing traveling down my throat and into my body.
