“Cas.” Sam whispered. “Nice to see you.”

Cas turned and gave him a little momentary smile. “Great to see you too Sam.” Then he turned his attention to Dean and looked dead serious. “Where is Emily?”

Dean looked up from wiping his shirt and tossed the dirty napkins on the table. He sat back and sighed. It was funny how unphased the brothers were by him just popping up out of the blue. “IN the bathroom. How do you keep finding me?”

“I am keeping close tabs. I haven’t left your side.” Cas looked over Dean’s shoulder at the bathroom door. “Are you seriously considering leaving her alone?”

“We can’t just take her in the middle of the demon battle.” Dean rolled his eyes and took another bite of his pie. “We would just be handing her over to them.”

“Why do you have to go there? There must be other hunters-“ Cas started.

“Cas, what is the big deal?” Sam asked trying to keep up with the secrets between these two.

Cas gave him a side glance before turning his attention back to Dean. “If you leave her alone, she is vulnerable.”

Sam just sat back and shook his head slowly. He felt useless like always.

“If we take her with us on this mission, she is a dead man. Why don’t you stay close to the hotel? Why can’t you watch over her for the night?” Dean looked over at Sam and gave him a pity shrug. He was planning to tell him later what all this was about.

Cas shook his head. He looked down at the table in defeat. “I am afraid that if I stay close to her a demon or angel will get suspicious. Everyone is paranoid now. There isn’t a chance for error.”

Dean stopped eating and set his fork down. He watched Cas and hated to see him so distraught. “One night you watch her and no one will know. We have to do this Cas, and there is no backing out. When it is over we will come get her and take her to safety. Trust me?”

Cas looked up and stared into Dean’s eyes. He searched and saw honesty. He nodded slowly and blinked hard. “Fine. But don’t take too long. I will come by before you two leave the hotel. I have some preparing to do. Some errands that need to be taken care of.”

Sam and Dean both blinked and Cas was gone. Disapeared into thin air and off to do angel’s bidding. Dean just stared at where Cas had been. Sam looked over at the bathroom door to see it was still closed.

“Dean, what was Cas talking about?” Sam looked over at Dean and kept his face serious and straight.

Dean took a deep breath and gave him the story piece by piece.

I groaned as the impala roared to a stop at a stop light. I had a small cut on my hand from cleaning the glass up at that diner but it was too small to do anything but give me small doses of sharp pains when it came in contact with anything. I paid the waitress for the vase and advised her to not keep a vase in there. The bathroom was too small and it was hard enough to maneuver in.

“Our angel friend is going to watch after you tonight at the hotel.” Dean broke the silence.

“Castiel?” I asked laying my head against the cool window.
