“Sleeping beauty is finally awake.” Dean scuffed sassily as he looked me over the bathroom doorway. I looked him over to see he was in his boxers and a white teeshirt with a toothbrush in his left hand. He winked at me when my eyes came back to his face. I noticed the ring gone from his eyes and a glow about him.
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and tried to break the pull back to bed. “What time is it?” I asked as I let out a large yawn.
“Seven.” Cas spoke softly from the couch.
I opened my eyes and saw he was staring at the back television with his hair shooting everywhere into the sky. Then I let my eyes fall to the floor to see Sam laying on his back his eyes still shut and his chest rising and falling slowly.
“Good morning to everyone, I guess.” I muttered as I threw the covers from around me and stood from the bed. I stretched my arms into the air and waited for the proper feeling of relief one gets when they stretch first thing in the morning.
“Good morning.” Cas muttered in a small puff of air. “Pleasant, really.”
I looked over at him with a raised eyebrow. “Wake up on the wrong side of the bed?”
He looked over at me with squinted eyes and in that moment he looked like a four year old child. “I rolled off the bed in the middle of the night and hit my knee on the coffee table getting back up. Then it took me hours of laying there until the sun rose and Dean got up. I honestly didn’t sleep at all.”
I felt bad for him since I didn’t even really use my bed all night. “Next hotel you can have a bed. I will take the floor. Doesn’t bother me.” I turned to see Dean spitting his toothpaste into the sink. I watched as he inspected himself in the mirror.
“And next stop Sam will have the other bed.” He turned and gave me a sideways grin. “We can share the floor.”
“Gross.” Cas muttered as he stood from the couch. “You two will not do anything while I am in the room, asleep or not.”
I chuckled out loud and stared for the fridgerator. “When are you going to get laid, my friend?”
“What.” Cas’ voice seemed to sqeak slowly from his throat. “’Get laid’?”
I turned to him with wide eyes and just thought on exactly how sheltered Cas has been to humans. “Dean. I don’t think I can have the bees and the flowers talk with him.”
“Uh.” Dean just stood in the doorway on the bathroom staring at Cas with a look of subtle horror. “Cas, remember that time you flew in on Sam kissing that one demon chick?”
Cas nodded and looked thoughtful. “It’s like that but more intense.”
“Dean!” I turned and just shook my head at him. “That is the worst explanation I have ever heard.”
Dean just shrugged at me. “What do you want me to say? I think we should just let him watch some porn or something.”
I just stared at him in utter horror. How did we even get here? I woke up this morning with the greatest fear of demons, and now this blew that fear right out of the water. I looked back over at Cas and felt bad for the guy. But I was also proud of him for stepping into this unknown world with the eagerness to learn what he has missed for years.
“You know what, you find a girl and we will cross that bridge when we get there.” I smiled and walked over to Cas to set a hand on his shoulder.
His morning grouchiness seemed to melt some and he gave me a quick smile. “Thanks.” Then he turned his back to me and walked to the window. I watched his eyes dart the area outside before he closed the curtains as tight as they could be.
“They aren’t going to find us.” I whispered still watching him. “I am making damn sure they never get close to you again.” The hate in my own voice made me jump a little. I had no idea where it came from.
Cas looked over his shoulder at me with mixed emotions. “We can’t hide forever. This is going to need to be dealt with soon. Since your return Lucifer has been gaining speed again. He is going to try to get you back again and again. We have no idea what his next move is. We don’t know what Zachariah is planning and we don’t know-“
“Zachariah wants this apacolpyse. He has given up on humanity.” I suddenly remembered back to my intense vision. “He is going to side with Lucifer when it comes to the end. We have no allies left.”
Cas lowered his eyes and turned his head from me. “This isn’t going to end well.”
“We have a secret weapon.” Dean spoke from behind me. “We have Emily. Isnt she the big key?”
I shook my head softly. “No. I am not any key. Right now I am the strongest ally the three of you have. I could be a wild card, but I am no key to this thing. This was started without me, and I am sure it will end the same.” I turned to stare at Dean. And then I let my eyes fall on the still sleeping Sam. “It is going to come down to you two. The ones who started this.”
“How are we going to stand a chance against Lucifer, demons and angels?” Dean’s voice grew low and it seemed to cut off last second.
“We will cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now, we need to hit the road. If we stay somewhere to long they will catch our scent.” I turned back to see Cas still at the window pondering something. “I think we need to see Bobby.”
“I don’t want Bobby near all this.” Dean spoke strongly.
“I need his help.” I whispered. “I might have an idea but I can’t go ahead with it until I consult him about it.” I turned and looked Dean in the eyes over my shoulder. “Do you trust me?”
He smirked warmly. “You know I do.”
