~ When The Enemies Loved Each Other ~
-- Chapter 14 –
( MAPEH Debate Sounds Fun )
Reina's POV:
** Thursday po ngayon and how can I ever forget, Music time for MAPEH and of course, time for the debate, everybody is ready and tsaka naka'research na rin kami ng mga information for this debate.
** May 15 minutes pa kami to prepare, so I call the attention of my group na, dapat manalo kami sa debate na ito or else, matatalo na naman kami the second time around against Do Roxas, no, hindi ko na hahayaang mangyari yun.
Sir Deo: Ok class, is everybody ready for the debate?
Mm: We are ready when you are ready Sir Deo.
Sir Deo: Good to hear that Mr. Madrigal. Ms. Rote, shall we start?
Ako: We are born to be ready Sir Deo, ok, let's do this!
Sir Deo: So, now that everybody is finally ready, let's now start this debate once and for all, let's use the remaining time for this debate. Again, I just want to remind each and every one that this is another activity which will help you lift your grades especially for those grades that are hanging and as usual, just like the game we had before, the group that wins this debate will have additional points for their final grades, the loser will also have an additional point but not as much as the winner does, anyway, after the member of each group speaks, the other member of the other group shall speak, answer and defend their stand, so, Mr. Do Roxas, shall you do the honor to start?
( In 3, 2, 1, start... )
Do: Ok Sir. Everyone, lend me your ears.
Ako: (Whispering) Lend me your ears daw.
Do: So, as we all know, Filipinos as we are, we should learn to love what's local and Filipinos as we are, we should be proud for everything of this. Just like the local music, we should appreciate what's local and we should appreciate what the Filipinos have and what Filipinos can.
Ako: Whether we like it or not, we appreciate, love and idolize what's international more than what's local, I might not be able to enumerate all of those for that's not what our concern is all about but international music is just an example of it.
Mm: Well, let me take this famous line in Filipino as an example "Ang di marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay mas masahol pa sa malansang isda", if you can't learn to appreciate what Filipinos can do then you're more than a stinky fish, right?
Jennilyn: Crazy, well, everything just merely depends on the sense of taste of an individual, not all local songs are really understood by the generation, so as we, teenagers to be more specific, especially the classics, it just so odd to hear those songs.
ConCon: Excuse me, classic local songs are just really pleasing to the ear, especially the OPM, it just merely verifies a true Filipino.
Magie: As much as everybody is concern, no one can ever escape from the fact that even you guys love international music, especially the pop, rock and rnb and so with those international love songs, it's tempo and rhythm can really make us relate and feel the music within us.
