I peered around the corner
As complacent as I am
I sit on a rock
Despite seeing the swing set in advance
I get off said rock
And go to the swing
My mind free from love's clutches
My music makes my ears ring
I begin to move my legs back and then forth
Reliving the memories and future
Both South and North
I pick up speed trying to outdue my cousin
Swinging away from everything and yet nothing
I am alone in this park at 8 am sharp
Yet I listen to the sounds of pianos and harps
I pick up speed trying to
Reach the top
But it swings me backwards
Until I decide to stop
My breath is heavy, legs are shaking
My mind of lead
I slow down swinging looking at the clouds
And when I stopped....
I became dead
